Has anyone noticed tricoderma to be more common when grain spawn is stored in a room in which the temp drops to low 60s at night?

Don't think it really matters. If it gets in your spawn it's going to be just as contaminated regardless of temperature.

When it gets cold in your house at night, and you have bulk sub colonizing, it can cause water to condense in the container and make more standing water on top of the sub. This can lead to bacterial growth, especially if it gets really warm in the day (80's).
If bacteria takes over before mycelium it could provide a vector for trich. This is just a theory of mine. I don't have any evidence for it, per se, aside from anecdotal experiences.

That's one of the reasons we always say to take the foil off. The open air holes help equalize the temperature and reduce condensation forming above the dry verm layer.
