could a flow hood be this easy?

So I was thinking of just putting this

Into a sealed box with another hepa filter

Its an ionic / hepa filter that can do supposedly 3500sqft of cleaning, has an adjustable fan and has uv and carbon filters

Too easy?

If it blows half a meter a second and can do .03 microns then it'll work.

If it were that easy, do you think people would continue to buy expensive filters & fans?

Those things are expensive. I've had one in my house for years and I love them. Not that exact brand, but something very similar. I don't use it for myco purposes though, just to keep my house fresh and clean.

He said he'd put it into another chamber with a better filter? Or at least that's how I translated it. I was just saying if the filter he did was .03 microns and if it blew half a meter a second through it, it would work. Idk how much that thing blows but it's going to have to be good to push through a secondary filter. A lot more than half a meter a second. If it were to work I'd say it could be just that easy :P. Still most people opt for a furnace blower for a reason. Cause it blows a huge amount through a fine filter

Thanks for the replies.  The main reason for this is i was plannin on getting it anyway and if i could just drop it in the box with another filter i wouldnt have to buy a furnace fan.  Just thinkin outside the box( or inside lol). Once i get it ill try it out and do a write up.  Never hurts to have more than one way to skin a cat!!

May as well just build a flowhood if you have the money. Pretty easy to build. The filter is what's going to cost the most. There are several places online that sell filters made to spec.

I would love a flowhood, homemade or pre-made.... but can't afford.

Until then a $10 SAB works just fine...
