1st Grow Attempt Ever

This is my first try ever at growing some magic. The strain is B+, ordered from a reliable shroomery sponsor. Used the syringe to inoculate 10 1/2pint jars of BRF/Verm substrate. Of the ten jars only 8 colonized, 2 were duds, 0 contaminated. They were fruited in a SGFC, misted twice per day and fanned 4 times per day.
Here is one of the cakes fruiting and then the other 2 pics are the yeild from 2 cakes. Let me know what you think and any advice you have to make next go even better. Next up is Ecuador's.

Yup. No pics.
Besides the pictures, it would be nice to have a little for detail incase maybe there is room for improvement.
Did you let them consolidate for a week after 100% colonization?
Are you using a 6500K bulb or anything for light?
I guess your SGFC was built EXACTLY to spec and placed in a good spot?
All in all it sounds like you didn't mention specifics cause you know what you're doing.. but without the specifics you can't say for sure.
Anywho.. get those pics uploaded!

I became un-lazy and checked your pics. Looks pretty good. They look nice and healthy. They remind me of pics of KSSS that I've seen. Short fatty codes. Haha.
Maybe a better piney next time but that could be up to genetics??
Either way it looks good. I've seen a lot worse.

I saw the pics in their gallery.
Glad you got some fruits and used an sgfc on your first go!

I can't get the pics attached to the post but they are uploaded and should be viewable, if you know how to get there. It was actually two SGFC both built to specs. Sitting raised on netpots with a 17w 6500k flo strip over each. Room they were fruited in was kept 70-75 constant, and humidifier was ran non-stop to keep room steadily between 50-75% humidity. Anything else you need to know just ask.

Thanks all for the props and love, appreciate the good vibes. Although I'm only growing for my girlfriend and myself, I feel like I'm already getting addicted to it as a hobby. I could see loving this even if you didn't love the magic that comes with the finished fruit. I can't wait to see what the Ecuador's look like vs the B+.

They look nice and healthy, but a bit dehydrated. Dunk those cakes in some water for 12-24 hours and roll in clean vermiculite to help maintain moisture and get bigger flushes.

Sorry for the wait guys here is what I have going on now. I decided to do some experimenting because I felt like I could get more out of my cakes.
My first experiment was taking two of the cakes and putting them in a fairly large Tupperware. One was left whole and placed in the bottom, then covered with bulk. Then the other was crumbled and layered on top of that, then covered by a second layer of bulk.
After this started to show colonization through the top, I flipped the whole thing over and dumped it out in my SGFC. The bulk used for this was just a straight ~50/50 mix of coco/verm pasteurized in the microwave for 10min on high. Here are the results of first flush of this experiment.

For experiment two, I took a single cake and chopped it up into about 1/4" cubes. I lined the bottom of a small metal pan with the cake chunks and then covered in a thin 1/2" layer of bulk. Saw first signs of colonization through surface 2 days later.
The bulk used for this was the same 50/50 coco/verm mix but with a pinch of organic ground oyster shell added in for experimental sake. This cake had already had one flush before it was chopped and bulked so not sure if this would technically be second flush or if it resets. Anyway here is what is currently going on with experiment 2.

As my other experiments begin to fruit I will post them up as well. Please let me know what you think, keeping in mind this is my first ever try at this. Also here are a few questions I was hoping you could help me out with.
1. If a cake has already had a flush and then you spawn it to bulk, is the first flush off the bulk considered a first or second flush.
2. Do I need to re-wet the mound from experiment one for a second flush? If so how could I do that since dunking isn't really an option with this one.
3. What is the best way to re-hydrate a tray like what I'm using in experiment two?
My thoughts were for the mound I'm just going to start dripping water on the top of it about once every 30 min and wait for it to absorb in. For the tray I was thinking just filling it with water letting it sit in the fridge for a couple hours then just draining off the excess water. Probably way off base here but let me know what you think.

Pretty nice results from an experiment! I like it. And yes , either dunk the cake or mist heavily to rehydrate if it needs it. After each flush a cake needs a dunk. A small casing can usualy get by with a heavy mist till after the second flush. Most of the time things contaminate after flushing once and using to re colonise a sub. So props to you

I was pretty happy with the results for first round, especially with all the experimenting. I decided to rehydrate the mound using a straw stuck into a hole into the center of the mound. Seems to work fairly well.
I actually have two more experiments going that are using a cake that has already flushed once. So far zero signs of contams. Also one other quick question, do I need to pick off every single little shroom/pin from first flush to get second flush? Or do they grow into part of second flush? Thanks for the props, I'm just so happy I took the time to read up and get results my first time. Feel like I'm going to have a major advantage now on doing up my Ecuador's that are almost colonized 100%.

Well sadly not much to report, made the mistake of laying down with my head on my girlfriends lap right at the onset. Had planet earth going on the TV and all the lights off. Needless to say I ended up falling asleep through my first journey on my own magic. What I can tell you is I woke up feeling pretty good and have had a nice e warm glow ever since. Feel like I got the best sleep I have in a long time. Can't remember any dreams at all, but feel like I definitely dreamt hard, if that makes any sense at all.
Anyway my fellow myco's if anyone could please let me know if I need to pick every little shroom/pin to get a solid second flush that would be awesome. Have read mixed info on it and I want to be sure I get what I can out of these B+.
