What are your experiences with alcohol?

I know there are studies that show drinking wine a couple times a week can improve the condition of your hear. From my experiences though alcohol dulls the mind, prevents the body from healing, lowers immune system.
Can anyone give some personal experiences where they have noticed these things? or even positive experiences. I'd say the times where alcohol was a good experience (not healthy wise) is during new years at the day.

I only like alcohol if I space my usage out to once every two months or so. Alcohol can 'lose it's magic' too. Yesterday I randomly got a 12 pack after about 2 months being dry. I wanted to celebrate the first really nice day of the year in my area. I drank half in about 2-2.5 hours then went and passed right the fuck out. Woke up feeling like a champ today.

I use to love alcohol with no negative effects but now it just feels horrible, bad side effects and bad hangovers.

You can over indulge for health benefits. It's like no more than 2 beers for the average guy. By 2, do they mean 2 coors lights or one good beer? That's probably in their study. You also need a lot of water while you drink.

I did that once. I had a long hair too. When I woke up in the morning it was standing straight up, gelled with whiskey, bile, and chunks of yesterday's hot dogs.

Apparently, this is old information. I read some newer study a few months back that seemed to indicate that the negative effects of alcohol on the heart heavily outweighed the apparent benefit of wine's antioxidants.
Drinking socially is usually a good experience for me. Even if I have too much throughout the night, I'm usually in such a positive mindset that I could really care less. Ultimately, though, even though I drink alcohol a couple times a week, I don't really like it at the end of the day. The inability to truly focus, not being able to do anything productive because I'm so sloppy, saying stupid shit or making an ass of yourself... Most things about it just scream "no good".
I had an incident last month that really made me evaluate my current situation and my alcohol consumption. I stayed up all night with my GF and her friend doing shots of bourbon all night. I drank about 3/4 of a 1.75L bottle to myself... I got very angry at some point and started throwing shit. I pushed my GF and her friend across the room and to the floor multiple times... I fell at some point and attempted to grab anything on the way down. I ended up breaking a lamp that was my GF's grandmothers - and she had just passed away. I ripped a wall-mounted gas heater off of the wall while it was still on... broke a bunch of drinking glasses... and a lot more... This was like 6am... I live in an old house that has multiple apartments... I woke everyone up... the landlord came... luckily the cops didn't... Just a really baaaaad, embarrassing, out of the blue experience... I haven't had much whiskey since that morning...

One time I drank 12 shots of vodka and caught a mouse by hand
It was one of the proudest moments of my life
So I put him in a gallon jug with holes poked in the side turned my back for 3 seconds and the little fucker was gone

Alcohol is terrible and I make it for a living haha. It's a awesome substance sometimes but when all you do is use it to get drunk or fucked up its a rabbit hole that will gobble your body up later in life.

This has been my experience as well. I'm 32 now and hangovers last 2 days for me. I drink maybe twice a year. Haven't drank at all this year.

I don't drink over three drinks when I do drink, which is rare in the first place. Alcohol doesn't negatively affect me. If it calms you down maybe that's why it lowers blood pressure. I totally believe moderate consumption can help and mutiple studies can support that. I'm willing to cite when I hit my computer if anyone's interested.
The question is, though, is the amount you consume greater than moderate? If so, then yes the positive benefits quickly flip.

I'm not an alcohol guy. It just doesn't appeal to me. I liked it somewhat before I had weed, but I have a sensitivity to it which doesn't even mean i get drunk easily: I just feel like shit even before I get any nice effects, often.
I like cider and wine though, in small amounts

I really don't like alcohol at all, I have enjoyed the taste of certain beers in the past, but have not had a beer in over 2 years.
I can do without it, I don't see it being beneficial to my spiritual growth, or my growth in anyway other than my penis growing for some fugly chick I drank pretty.
