Bugs on my Calea Zacatechihi!
    #2153403 - 12/02/03 10:09 PM (20 years, 3 months ago)

=(

My calea has lost nearly 40% of its foilage to these small little black(flea sized) bugs. How can I relocate those murdering bugs? I am so worried for this plant hehe. I will maybe post picture of it, and this time its a real calea(not a fake yard weed like last time). teehehe thanks.

Those are Spider mites and they will devour a plant. Are there any webs anywhere. They spin silk like a spider and are small like an aphid. Here is what youll have to do if you don't want to use poison like sevin dust.

Go get a magnifying glass, lupe, or a handlens. And kill them all by hand. It wont take very long. Just go over every sing leaf that is ont eh plants and smash them. You will have to do this every week for at least a month or so. They have already laid eggs and when they are dark black they are old enough to reproduce. Their eggs only take a few weeks to hatch then a whole new generation. So keep up with them for a month or so and you should get rid of them all. BTW> it is a common problem with allot of indoor plants, even mary.

Indeed, i just mixed up some tobacco water, dash of soap and some cayenne pepper and spray it onto them making sure to get every nook and cranny... after a few days of doing this got all the fuckers.

Ok thanks for the help. I do not think they are spider mites because I see no webs. I think I will try the spray thing neuro suggested.
