9/10 ID requests from noobs start with:
"Is this active will I trip"?
Shouldnt the first question be "is this poisonous will it harm me"?
Food for thought.

That's my main concern when asking for ID.
I'd rather have some nice friendly inactive panaeolus canoleous and not trip, than to die

i cant think of anything that counters this.

Yeah, but I've met a lot of people that think any thing that stains/bruises blue is psychoactive, and that isn't true

If I'm not mistaken it's active, if it bruises blue and has a purple spore print. That doesn't mean bruising = active, and it doesn't mean that purple print = active.
Some TI correct me if I'm wrong.

Dark spored gilled mushrooms that bruise blue are all active, but some mushrooms appear to show blue bruising that do not actually bruise blue.

I'm no TI, but having both blue bruising and a purple spore print slims it all down to pislocybe.

There are several boletes that will bruise a bluish green color. To an unwary hunter who knows little about mushrooms other than blue bruising = trip they might go ahead and eat it. I don't recall if those species are edible or not. I have seen people asking if Turkey tail were psychedelic before, on various forums. So a blue bruising bolete getting confused for a magic mushroom doesn't seem out of the question.

There are a lot of dark spored boletes that bruise blue and are toxic.
The rule is that if it bruises blue and has a dark purple brown or black spore print, it is nontoxic and psychoactive. Also, pink spored and orange spored mushrooms that bruise blue are psychoactive.

Phylloporus rhodoxanthus is an exception to that.

Phylloporus rhodoxanthus does not have pink or orange spores.

They look salmon colored to my eye, which is close enough to pink and orange that I thought it was worth bringing up. I've never printed one before, but Mushroom Expert lists spore color as yellowish to dirty yellow. I don't know what dirty yellow looks like, but I imagine it's pretty close to orange
