Agar on hepa filter
    #21520441 - 04/08/15 05:47 PM (9 years, 1 month ago)

I am making master slants, and as I was racking them, some agar leaked onto the HEPA filter of my flowhood. I dont want contaminants to grow on it. It is a mini-pleat filter... any suggestions?

I have a feeling once it dries out it won't be much of an issue, but I am not certain.

I've used alcohol on my pleat HEPA before and haven't seen any issues.  Just take the edge of a paper towel and slightly dampen it and move it gently on either edge of the pleat.  Should remove most of the agar.

Otherwise just use Lysol on it and make sure your HEPA has been running for a while before you do sterile work.

Lol yeah, wipe it off man. It shouldn't be a thing, just be gentle and don't fuck up the pleats.

I sort of wish I hadn't gone with the pleated filter. I think it's all taken care of. It better be! This thing is my fuckin baby!
