Growing shrooms outdoors?

Hey everyone I am new to the whole mushroom growing thing. I was planning on doing my first grow outdoors. I wanted to spray spores all over some near by woods. Would I get any results from this? Reason I'm asking is because I assume thats how its done in nature. If that doesn't work then what is the best tek for starting an outdoor shroom patch?

that depends on what you are trying to grow. yes, you can have SOME luck with that.
however. are you in the right climate zone for what you want to grow?
what does the fungi grow on in nature...
if i was tryng to get shitake to grow all over my woods. i'd make a shitake spawn jar... i'd transfer the grains to a jar with wood plugs, i'd go find a big falled tree. drill holes and fill the holes with the spore plugs. then i'd have one log LOADED with shitake.
if i do this all over my woods, i will have a woods FULL of shitake.
if i do this every year for a few years. i'll make a perminant colony in my woods that will last a long time. and will likely keep itself going.
but if i was trying to grow other things my approach would be different
if say it naturally grows on dungs... i would find some place with a lot of dung and i wouldnt expect it to grow on fallen trees.

There's way too many factors on spraying spores outdoors. IF they even grow your looking at 3-5 years to get any fruit. Try Moe's outdoor tek or simply layering straw, spawn, poo and watering and hope your outdoor conditions are right. Some people have way more success outdoors then indoors just depends on where you live

I see ..what if I were to colonize a grow bag then cut it open mix with wood chips and spread around the woods. Would this be ideal for a successful grow?

That would definitely be a very good start. Or use the grow bag to colonise chips then spread the chips to more chips to more chips to more chips.

That sounds promising. I plan on putting my shiitakes near a flowing stream of water. Hopefully this provides the moister the mushrooms need.
