Ya it does look like some kind of Coprinus species and the gills do liquify and the cap curls up with age. So it's not active then?

Ok well thanks for the reply man. I'm not really sure haha I've studied up a little bit on what grows this time of year in my area but I'm not really sure what to look for or where to look. Any tips?

If you are in Washington, it wont be too long before you see em haha.
Umm springtime Panaleous Cinctclus and P. Oviodcystidas and P. Stuntzii.

Research each very well. And when you are bored, late night and you need to do something, read abiut mushrooms. Read them. Over. And over. And over. Then go find different websites to read about your favorites or most possible species to find. You can never learn too much. Keep that in mind.
