Perlite for second round

My first batch of cakes are spent and I am ready to birth the new ones I have. I used the SGFC and watched the videos. My question is - do I need to do anything to the perlite for this new batch of cakes or should I just wet it as I did for the first batch? Do I need to clean them in some other way?
Thank you!

Question) Do I NEED to? Answer) No, you don't NEED too.
However, some just rinse with hot water. Some boil the perlite. Some PC the perlite. All are not required IMO.
Rinse with hot water, then room temp water, then birth.

Assuming you didn't have any nasty contams or anything funky growing, your perlite is just fine. It's just glass after all, so it will last a very long time.
The simple solution is just keep it in the SGFC and throw it into the shower. Let the water run thru the perlite and rehydrate it. Keep it in the tub and let the excess water drain out and voilà, your ready to put the SGFC back into action.

Interesting, I wonder what it would cost to snag a full bath/shower unit from Craigslist and setup a green house inside.

I use my perlite over and over again. I rinse it outside with the hose while it's in the fruiting chamber.
