This cake i have has what i think to be cobweb mold. Its kinda this fuzzy growth that is a very thin layer on a few parts of the cake. Once the cobweb have started growing does this mean my cake is fucked and cannot yeild any mushrooms? If that is true i will be bummed, this is my last chance to make anything of the 10cc syringe i ordered a while back. I guess i will just have to start over.

If the cakes are still inside the jars, then there's not much you can do.
If the cakes were birth already, then you can dunk the infected cakes in some h2o2:h2o solution for 12 or more hours and then put them back in the terrarium.
The ratio is 1 portion of h2o2 to 10 portion of water.

Hm ok ill have to try this, i looked at my cake this morning and there are some pins forming on it, will they survive being dunked in the h2o2/water mixture? Peace.

If the cake is indeed contaminated, harvest the pins. If you can, cut the infected portions with a sterile knife and then dunk the cakes.

Yeah i'm almost positive its cobweb. I've been reading up and looking at old posts, the only thing is the stuff growing on the cake isnt really like strings in the pictures ive seen. Its sort of a mroe fuzzy growth, very thin. I'm pretty sure ill do the dunking procedure.
