Glove box Advice

Hey guys and girls,
I just purchased a 50l and 80l storage crate, I intend to convert the 50l in to a glove box as it has more surface area than the 80l
The lid is not clear so I need to cut and cover a viewing hole with thick plastic sheeting.
I don't want to go as far as to add any gloves and I will take the route of spraying down my arms with alcohol before using the box.
I am having some difficulty finding the PVC pipe fittings, would thisbe suitable?
Ideally I want pipe adapters with a thread so I can add an air tight plug/lid, the 6" adapter I posted seems a little large, any advice on search terms to use for the correct item?

PVC fittings only make your SAB cost more go to any building store they'll have them
they're DWV cleanouts. DWV drain waste vent.
just so you know the plugs that screw into those are tapered threads(pipe threading) and if you screw them in more than a half turn or so you need a wrench to get them back out.
i do all sorts of really cool agar work and it's just a big bin with two holes. nothing fancy. no arm sleeves. no gloves half the time. https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/20947447#20947447
you don't need a Cadillac SAB you just need to develop skills that only come through practice not reading.

Hi Bodhisatta,
Thanks for the pointers, I will take your advice and leave out the pipe adapter in favor of a simpler hole/plastic flap setup.
I am eager to get started with agar and as you said the sooner I start getting practice in the sooner I will nail down a good procedure for clean work.

You can always put the lid off to the side and just flip the tub upside-down onto a flat/clean surface. Will also give more work space, since the tubs tend to taper. Keep it simple.

yep throw the lid away flip and use a table as the bottom. working on a surface that isn't flat = bogus.

My SAB has been very successful across MS SYRINGE inoculation with PF TEK and LC, and grain, preparing syringes from LC, inoculating with LC, and hopefully I will find it does well for g2g. Even this design is excessive...,but it was next to free after buying the tote:

As you can see my lid is not clear...so I don't use it as the top. The bottom of my tote isn't clear either so I don't use it as the top either. If you can tell from the photo I cut round holes in the tote then use high quality tape to secure the crotches from whitey tighty underwear over the holes. The brief crotches create a nice seal around my arms when the SAB is in use, and I've yet to have a major error evident in steril practice
