I reccomend sterlizing the mixture of expanded coco coir and vermiculite. I use a microwave... mix, then microwave in a microwave safe bowl for 5 minutes, then stir and nuke another 5 minutes. I let it cool in the fridge (spray lysol in it first, or just dont use it if its really dirty). Sometimes, after using the microwave to sterlize the mixture, alot of moisture is lost so remember to rehydrate it.

I break off some with a knife. Not alot for it expands alot! Maybe expands by about 5 times the volume. Anyways, bring to a boil and let simmer for 45 minutes to an hour. Then run under cold water if your impatient like me and then use in your casing. Even after boiling for an hour I've had a seed of somekind germinate. Crazy. L8rs.
