Yes it's bad in my opinion. They naturaly grow at night therefore they aren't going to pin if it's always day time. Light is only needed to tell them which way to grow and to initiate the pinning hormone, only small ammounts are needed to get them to pin, maybe 4 to 6 hrs i'd say is good. You'll notice it helps alot.

So less light is better, hmm? I was wondering myself. Looks like I'll have to change my timer, I had mine set for 22 hours of light and 2 hours darkness.

I like going for 12 hours to initiate pinning and then turning back to 6-8 hours a day since it was proved pins grows faster in the dark.

But in any case, light cycle shouldn't exceed 12 hours a day since it's already more than enough for any growth stage.

.fs.

With less light they will grow faster, you should notice a diffrence within a day or two if they just started pinning, if they haven't pinned then they will probvably pin soon. Most people I know just set light on 12 hrs of light and 12 of darkness to simulate an avrg dayly light cycle, but my friend has has much better luck with 4 and 6 hrs of light and 18 to 20 hrs of darkness. Don't forget they don't recieve any nutrients from the light at all.

I just keep them by a window, but out of direct sunlight. This way they go through the normal day/night cycle.

Any light works realy, but especialy lights with a strong blue spectrum. Any UV light or flourescent would work fine, but durring the christmas times it is always nice to get some blue christmas lights, but any light would work great.
