I can't help but notice so many of the PE blobs people have posted look virtually identical to Mycogone infection.
I've noticed the same Kizzle.

Got any more info on that? It can't actually be any type of infection, since those blobs are pretty potent, right?

I don't know what effect it would have on potency but Mycogone infected mushroom start to rot eventually and basically start oozing metabolites. The mushrooms develop a white fuzz with brown patches, grow into weird lumpy shapes, and in some cases can grow as large as a grapefruit. It's something you'd think couldn't slip as a simple abnormality.

Kinda looks the same. Or rather, like your picture is a way more advanced version of mine. Could they be the same thing or is that weeping-metabolites look a function of the mycelium, regardless of the contaminant?

When the primodia are infected they do turn out differently. They don't even seem like mushrooms really, more like soft blobs of tissue.

It doesn't obviously. those are just the ones that they always have on sale by my house. Plus the sterlites 66qt with the white lids don't latch and aren't as sturdy feeling imo

Never seen blobs that look like what you are describing, this is what I managed to pull together from the pictures I have left.

I've picked a few that were that big, they were regular colors though. Blobs sometimes just come out strange colors like orange and green

were those blobs juicing and then the fruits turned mushy when squeezed? thats contamination. pretty nasty looking.
oozing green is a bad sign. oozing in general is bad.

None of them looked like what kizzle is posting. Kizzle's examples look aloof for sure.

Interesting idea but from my experience blobs aren't soft but pretty solid, in fact they are generally denser than a normal mushroom. They really seem like stem like material that's in a run away growth.
Also, no wonder you are looking for a blob solution.

A few of those were done with low spawn ratio's to test out why I thought my first tub series failed to blobs.

the blobs with pf classic on pf cakes were always solid masses and just like an aborted fruit so to say. and they were always extremely potent. never any oozing though only dark blue bruising.
