A Day InThe Life said: I used to work part-time jobs like this where they have you work just below the full-time amount to avoid shelling out benefits. You know what I did? Got a better, full-time job that has benefits.. Not only that, it grows my skills so I can go find another similar job if I wanted to or happen to lose this one. Pays better too.
abandoning our ideals and convictions will not solve our problems, neither will running away from them. if we let bad companies set the standard, we're all going to be looking for other jobs.
What new regulations would you like to see, if any at all?

i think minimum should be raised and there should be some tighter restrictions on who is elligible for benefits. wages are the main concern for me though. having a working class with spending power benefits everyone, including business owners.
i'm not a base wage worker by the way. i have a lot of former experience in a highly technical field and i'm currently working for a national company in the administrative end of the car business. i'm hopefully about to see a life changing promotion after nearly four years of struggling in a choking economy in the wake of a messy divorce. i started my current job making $40 a month.

"having a working class with spending power benefits everyone"
Absolutely.
"wages are the main concern for me though"
They are for everyone at the end of the day, the reason why wages have been stagnate for the majority of US workers is because of globalization and illegal immigrants killing the supply/demand equation in the US labor market.
In the 1950 and 1960's, it was very common for good companies to set up job booths at local festivals/fairs to get new workers, they were desparate. We once had strong demand for labor relative to workers, those conditions created strong wages and benefits, we don't have that issue today, in fact the complete opposite.

for sure. and it all started with nixon ending bretton-woods in '71. tying our currency to speculative markets created a cascade of fuck that continues into now. i think i fell into a pretty good field though. people will always need cars.
