No, I don't think I can.

Actually, I'll bet if I did something wild, like stab my mom to death, I could make myself really freak out.

Always have had the ability.
Most people can.
It starts with hyperventilating yourself intentionally.
Because as we all know, the key to harmony is breathing.
So logically speaking, the key to disharmony, is not breathing correctly.

seems like we have an easier time inducing panic, depression etc
than more desirable states of mind...(considering the number
of depressed or Panic Disorder people out there as compared
to the number of blissful people)...

well sometimes being calm takes some kind of peace to be created within yourself, something to slowly work towards, or to just be sublime i guess, and not really care. I dont know, could you compare it to creation v.s. destruction? AS if its easier to destroy something, than to build something? Usually depressed and panic attacks by me are caused when things are all in disarray.

actually, I can induce a panic attack simply by thinking
about it, not by hyperventilating...
I just think of the feeling of absolute terror and it makes
me terrified...

I do have a problem with breathing. Sometimes i breathe through my nose and sometimes i breath through my mouth. It's not a good thing at all. I get panic attacks now and again. My whole mind set seems to change sometimes. I don't like it all at. But I can calm down really quickly when needed. One thing I do not like is that I'm on medication for it.

Breathing correctly is a first step to uninducing that panic attack. I think next would be to relax your muscles. Then start to concentrate on your breathing. Works for me. This is for those who don't like those pesky little panic attacks.

Peace,
Droz

hmmm...
my panic attacks are caused by confusion or a sense of no escape
(entrapment into existance - i.e. having no choice)...
If I start to think about these things I can induce a panic attack...
Meditation can cause panic attacks or pangs of Hellish despair
in me as well...

Mine come when I get paranoid. I have a strange ability that I'm not quite sure how to use or how to progress my ability for the greater good of life on earth and life to the next. So I'm kind of confused also. Sometimes I have that sense of no escape also. I seem to be able to go very very endepth on whatever I'm focusing on. When someone tells me something I can tear it apart into little bits and then show them an indepth meaning of what they said. I over analyze way too much.

Just a little something about myself.

Droz

maybe it's the curse of an analytical mind :frown:

Lucid try keeping focused day in and day out. That is something very much that I myself need to do. We must find balance in this world and the next. I think that is where the whole idea of harmonizing came from.

Balance.

See, and that's why it says under my name, "pot paranoia". I HAD TO STOP doing drugs in my early 20's because they made me feel paranoid. When I was older, and without doing drugs, I had the same feelings, which I have since learned is called "panic attack syndrome". I would get these feelings when I had too much going on.

So, in essence, I can induce a panic attack in myself, but I would rather not. See?

I can call down extreme unrelenting psychological pain upon myself any time I want to. The problem is that it's worse than a drug because it lasts for days and fucks up everything in my life at the time. The funny part, I loved the feeling the few times I did it. I actually did it the first time for at least a month straight. I felt, sanctified, justified, and all those sorts of words. It was a nice blissful state. It just wasn't a positive emotion causing the bliss. I cannot deny though, I really liked it. It's just too disruptive to indulge in until I retire or get a teaching job where I have three months off to play with it. I don't think I'm fucked up because I like it though. I think it just fits the structure of my mind so well, filling in the blank spots where confusion lies. When I'm deep in pain, the world makes sense and that is comforting. I've told people about it, including therapists and they have no response except that it's probably cathartic.

well if you think about it, destruction is oftentimes easier than creation because you've got gravity on your side, so maybe feelings of anxiety/depression are brought about by some other contributing factor. perhaps its how often most people are told that there might be something wrong with them, or that something they do might result in negative health/life effects. tomorrow, try to keep track of how many times you're told there might be something wrong with you. from bob smiling because of his new found confidence and sad little circles suffering from social anxiety to the cashier talking about lung cancer from cigarettes and high bloodpressure from too much salt, it would probably be overwhelming to just pay attention to all of it.

it seems to me that, in many cases, things which cause panic attacks arent worth the anxiety. life is like falling down a well without a bottom, you can scratch at the walls and try to stop all you want but in the end its a much more pleasant ride if you just let go.

whenever i smoke some indica, i get paraniod, and that paranoia often leads to a panic attack, only because my mind over analyses my being stoned, and i start feeling like somthing is physically wrong with me and then i start to flip, happened a few hours ago.

and yes even without weed, i can get myself stuck in a thought loop that will lead to a panic attack
