(Counter Current News) The video of former Alaska KTVA anchor Charlo Greene made headlines last year after she quit on the air. She said she had grown increasingly frustrated with the media’s anti-cannabis propaganda and had decided to focus on her pro-marijuana campaign for the Alaska Cannabis Club where she now works.
She became a high profile “celebrity” of sorts, virtually overnight. But Greene’s former employer, KTVA, reported that last Friday, police raided the legal marijuana store (or “club” if you prefer), where Greene works.
Watch her account in the video below…
Police officials say that they executed a search warrant Friday which alleged: “there is now being concealed property, namely: Marijuana, in cultivation or harvested, resins, oils, hashish or other THC derivatives, concentrates, edibles and equipment used in the extraction of THC,” as well as other “illegal transactions.”
Law enforcement also say that they search ed electronic statements from the dispensary that they believe were “used in or intended for use in or derived from trafficking in controlled substances.”
Greene, whose real name is Charlene Egbe, told her former employer that they took a few marijuana plants, bongs, pipes, phones, computers and two vehicles from the residence. She claimed it was only a “fourth degree misdemeanor.”
“This is basically a medical marijuana dispensary,” Greene expained. She’s the CEO of the Alaska Cannabis Club, which she emphasizes differs in important legal ways from a traditional “store,” even if residents might refer to is such.
“We don’t sell any recreational marijuana, we don’t sell any medical marijuana. This is a place for card holders to come and share their own cannabis.”
Greene told her former employer KTVA that she watched authorities execute the raid. She said that the club was reopened the next day, in spite of the read.
“By opening back up bright and early, less than 24 hours after the local police department’s failed scare tactic, we, at the Alaska Cannabis Club, have made it clear that the will of the people is stronger than any force they have — and we aren’t going anywhere,” Greene told the Associated Press in an email.
Recreational marijuana use is completely legal in the State of Alaska. It’s still illegal to officially “sell” marijuana in public places. But while it’s convenient to refer to the “Pot Club” as a “store,” it really isn’t. It is carefully adhering to the law, not making any pot “sales” whatsoever.
The store, dispensary, club – whatever you want to call it – had broken no laws whatsoever, and to back that up, no arrests were made at the scene. No one was charged with a crime either. All of this has led many to believe that the raid was purely retaliatory in nature; targeting Greene because she spoke out against media anti-marijuana propaganda on the air with her resignation.
What do you think?

I know I'm not the only who noticed how great her tits look in that picture.
Anyway, this is nothing new, I wonder if they're still going to somehow be doing any raiding if that bill for federal approved MMJ is passed. Feds are really reaching to get somewhere in this drug war while they can though.

Well, in a state where 46 percent of voters were against legalization, where information of out-of-state (lobbyist) interest (10:09 in the video above) came up, it would come as no surprise that the opposition would still try to fight it. On the other hand this does seem like a political scare tactic; Green has gained some political and popular momentum, maybe some pressure will discourage her from pursuing a political career..
