First Mushroom Experience
    #21473287 - 03/29/15 06:14 AM (9 years, 1 month ago)

My first time doing Psilocybin Mushrooms which took place in the Summer of 2014.

I had been wanting to try shrooms for years,  but there was always something holding me back.  Situation,  mindset or whatever.  A few months ago I decided it was time.

I was on a mission to find them.  However the mushrooms where proving difficult to find.  6 months went by with no luck.  I asked over 40 people and no one knew anyone.  I decided to ask my buddy out in California despite me being on the East Coast.  He found them almost immediately.

So off to California I flew.  I had been reading about shrooms for years and decided to take an eighth my first time since I wanted the "full experience".  $35 later and I had my mushrooms.

I was on vacation for a week with my best friend so I was stress free,  and I chose a secluded forest for my trip setting.

I woke up early that day and had a decent breakfast.  Oatmeal,  banana and a peanut butter sandwich.
5 hours later we where at our location.  My best friend and I.  He didn't eat any shrooms. He was to be my trip sitter.

We shook hands and I ate the 3.5 grams. I chewed them up really well,  washed them down with some water and lay down on a big rock up on a shady hill covered with trees.

About 20 minutes later I started to feel it.  It came on gradual.  I had a tingly body sensation and it almost felt like I was floating. At about 45 minutes I was finding everything hilarious.  At this point time became irrelevant and I forgot about it entirely.  I felt at home in the forest.  I felt like the forest wanted me there.  It was welcoming.  The way the branches where hanging made me think the trees where showing me some sort of hugging embrace.

Very slight hallucinations occurred, but they where borderline imagination.  The tree branches looked like they had a lining on them,  on the edge of the branches. Like a shiny lining. Focusing on a tree branch made it bend slightly,  kind of like rubber,  moving very slowly,  flowing.  Closing my eyes I saw a vague outline of a tree.  It got closer to me and then it stopped,  the tree opened it's eyes and looked at me.  Then it closed them and the tree was gone.

And that's pretty much it.  The shrooms I took must of been very weak.  At 3.5 grams of gold caps I should of tripped much harder than I did.  It's almost safe to say I never really hallucinated at all.  I mean you know when you close your eyes and you can kind of see shapes,  well maybe the tree I saw was just that.  The mushrooms did make me feel good,  and everything was funny.  Overall a fun time nonetheless,  just not what I expected hallucination wise.

One trippy thing that did happen was while we where sitting quietly enjoying nature,  a big buck came running down the hill and stopped at the bottom.  It looked right at us.  It stared for about 7 seconds,  then took off running back up the hill.

I believe he was checking us out,  and when he realized we where not a threat he left.  I felt very welcomed in the forest.  Time did not exist,  and all that mattered was that moment right then,  nothing else.

I feel a deeper appreciation for nature now.  I have always loved nature,  growing up in Cape Town,  South Africa I spent most of my time outdoors.  But this experience made me love nature even more.

That sounds like a nice experience.

Maybe it wasn't as visual as you were hoping for, but stronger visuals go hand-in-hand with higher intensity, so for a first-time trip it sounds like a pleasant introduction to the world of shrooms.

I wrote that, but I meant something else

That's what my buddy told me as well. I took 2 grams a few months later and took 1 dab of shatter and had pretty good closed eye visuals.

Looking forward to my next Mushroom trip

Thank you for Sharing that experience with us. I remember my first shroom trip vividly. I was with my cousin who is only a couple months younger than me, so we're very close and a friend of his who I got along with pretty well. We were on a large plot of land my cousin's father had bought couple years back around 100 acres or so.

I remember my cousin taking the shrooms out and offering me some, he split an 1/8th 3 ways equally and I decided why not?

Before we realized we were into our trip, we had a base camp which was his cabin and at the time we were around a fire we had stated earlier. Joe (cousins friend) and I had begun a very deep conversation without realizing it and noticed shortly after that my cousin went missing, he was only 20 yards away staring at the trees lost in their beauty, once he pointed them out everything was like I had seen it for the first time, this was probably the peak of the trip.

We spent hours taking quietly and amongst one another and enjoying the beauty of nature. We had list track of time and before we knew it the horizon exploded into an array of gold and red and orange and yellow, the sun was setting and we had the most magnificent view standing on the back porch of his cabin which was at the top of a hill, the sky was so deeply saturated in the most beautiful hues i described early and it spanned the entire horizon. We just watched and enjoyed every moment.

After the sun set and watching night sweep in we went inside to sleep, I remember closing my eyes even though it was pitch black and all I could see were red blue and green lights zooming across the room in a horizontal grid pattern, leaving tracers that would fade only to be replaced by more. I eventually fell asleep.

It was beautiful and something i will never forget and it was probably 8 years ago this happened
