Canadian Customs

I am taking a hiatus from the hobby for time constraint reasons, so I mailed some of my best culture wedges to an internet friend in Canada. I did not label the tubes with the contents, only by a letter that corresponds to a known list. How long should it normally take to get a bubble mailer from the midwest to southern canada, and when should I worry?

Canada customs can be hugely variable when it comes to how long it takes to clear a package, generally smallish packages go through fastish, If they are all edibles i can't see there being many issues and even with actives i have seen packages opened and sent through without issue. syringes filled with lc or spore syringes occasionally raise a few questions and i have been called by customs regarding an order from spore works and they seemed happy with the explanation that the active spore syringes where to be used as reference samples. As to timing have had an order shipped on a friday from the US and delivered on a monday yet other times had it take three weeks to get to me. Did you get a tracking number? Slart

I did not get a tracking number. I got a customs number. At if they open it and find that it was not the declared item of "Plastic action figures" can I get in any real trouble for lying about the contents?

I don't know if that would be a big deal to them but the difference in what it was declared as compared to the contents would probably raise suspicion on their part. I can see mislabeling the contents as to species in order to get actives across the border but having it declared as something that would not look the same on X-ray doesn't strike me as the best plan. that being said it will probably get through fine. Hope all goes well. Slart

I wouldn't of sent it from your address/name if you lied on the customs form and put something else in the package, however, I can tell you from experience very very few packages from the US that are small in size get opened.
I've gotten qp's, hash, and various other things. And LC from active psilocybes. A whole bubble pack filled with about nine syringes. No problemo.
It is hit and miss but I wouldn't worry too much.

Ok, so it has been 12 days. Even if everything is fine, could someone walk me through some suggestions for dealing with a worst case scenario? Let's say in this hypothetical scenario that the package has been opened and it has been found that I lied about the contents. I have already fucked up by putting accurate identifying retturn information. How serious is this infraction and how would one brace themselves for potential repercussion? Scenario 1.5: assume the same as above, but also assume that some of the culture wedges have been tested and found to be mycelium of active species. Is this enough to justify a search warrent of a home? Of a computer? If they find nothing else, is the package itself enough to press charges?

I'm really surprised no one has any input on this.

Yeah, I was just freaking out. Still I think it might be useful for us to have a "what to do in worst case scenario" kind of list.
