Species #1

Habitat:  found them about an hour ago in a plum orchard sprayed with manure, they grew in the trench between the trees. all found in the same location and look alike with slight differences in the cap.

Gills:Black or dark brown wavy compressed gills.

Stem:short brown stems, slightly lighter than the caps.

Cap:caps are mostly flat, some are curved, and some seem to be studded resembling a turtle shell.

Bruising: no visible bruising

General location:Central valley California

It's an Agaricus species. The gills are wavy from being old and dried out.

okay,But will these produce a psychedelic effect? i ask because I am pretty sure I can find some fresh ones in the same area.

It will help you to research the active mushrooms that grow in your area as the ones you picked don't even closely resemble anything active; and if you spend your time picking the first thing you find and then asking if it's active or not you will become very frustrated very fast! It's hard enough finding active mushrooms even when you know what you are looking for.
