1 quart = ?
    #21463824 - 03/27/15 12:28 AM (9 years, 1 month ago)

Hi

I want to use the Coir tek but am unsure exactly how big 'one quart' is....

http://www.shroomery.org/10858/How-to-do-Coir

So could someone explain to me how many ML or grams 1 quart contains so i know the correct measurements?

Metric system bro. 1 quart = 1000ml. 4 quarts = 1 gallon.

1000 ml's = 1 liter.
In our hobby, liters and quarts are inter-changeable.
No need to worry about exact measurements.

Right yeah, it's damn close. They only have liters in Canada I think and everywhere else but USA lol.

I fill my jars about 2/3 for g2g . 3/4 full for lc or spores . I weigh my coir . I have noticed people lately have been stressing about details . Mushrooms don't care about weights and measures or a time schedule. the years I have enjoyed this hobby I have learned no two mushrooms are the same an don't stress the details . Things don't have to be perfect just close . When All else fail eye ball it .

Funky

As a dutch guy, it's sometimes a bit confusing to convert everything to metric. ounces to grams, fahrenheit to celcius and sometimes the dates which are written differently.

I live where the metric system is used and it can be annoying coming across imperial but there are calculators online that'll do the conversions for you. When writing the date I write the name of the month to avoid confusion. For example, 4 March 2012 as opposed to 4/3/2012 or 3/4/2012.

From fahrenheit to celcius I always have to do-> (Fahrenheit-32)*(5/9)=celcius.
Writing the month using the alphabet is a good idea

Type fahrenheit to celsius into Google and it'll automatically come up with a temperature calculator for you. It does in Chrome anyway. If it doesn't come up then the first few links should be for sites that have temperature calculators for you. It saves you from doing the calculations manually. There are calculators for percentages and all sorts of things.

Metric system is the tool of the devil! My car gets forty rods to the hogs-head and that’s the way I likes it!
