A friend of mine left me 2 cakes. He handled everything from incubation to birthing, and I have been caring for them since (about 2.5 weeks). I just looked over the FAQS and from what I read and saw, I think my cakes seem to be doing fine. There is one mushroom that i think is almost ready for harvest in cakeA. What do you guys think, am i doing everything ok?

hey all thoes bacl ones need to be picked asap....they are aborts(well that what they look like im almost 99% shure of that) pick them because they will rot and destroy your cake.....pick all mushrooms that arnt growing

Either your humidity is too high (which, telling by the color of the fatty stem and the by the blueing of the cake,it most definitely is) You're not fanning enough, ALL of those pins and fruits have aborted/stalled. Pick them NOW. They're still good to consume as long as they haven't rotted.

Cake A looks as if pins are growing from a stem of a bigger fruit?? Very odd.

I've never seen pins come from other pins before, thats very odd. Other than that they all look great.

Set the cakes on a jar lid, not directly on the perlite. Looks like they are getting to much H20

Ok, well i pulled as a many as i thought were good and left the rest. I am a first timer so im not sure if i did everything right. I placed the ones i plucked in some tupperware and stored them in the fridge until i can go to the store and get a Fan. While i'm there Is there anything else (supplies) I may need?

I posted some more pictures. Which are good and which are bad?
I also want to Dunk the cakes, but my friend says to wait until my second flush, but i told him that it really shouldnt matter. To dunk or not to dunk?

I'd put them in a paper bag... not tupperware unless it wont take you long.

I am the guy who gave these to eighta. Of the the 12 jars all have now sprouted, lost one, but it was rust from the top of one of the jars.


Can't wait to eat these lovely ones.

Id be weary of eating the ones with the black caps. They look like they have started to rot.

Its too wet in there...the mushrooms growing off of mushrooms...now that is pretty interesting.
