Anyone ever worked as a banquet server?

Got hired on as a Banquet server for a place that does receptions for weddings. Think typically its minimum wage + gratuity. Anyone have any experience with wedding gig? i know people throw down alot of money. At my last jobs, people who worked banquets made 8$an hour + gratuity + tips. Easily 100$ in 1-2,3 hours. Im just hoping this place isnt gonna try to go with 10$ an hour or something. That would just be gay. Please discuss your experiences.

Working as a back of the house guy I can take a pretty educated guess There will be a 15% gratuity tacked on the bill to be split between the servers since all you'll be doing is bringing the food out serving water and maybe giving out dinner rolls and whatnot so unless it is an open bar and you go get people drinks you ain't gonna get no extra cash.

Not always true. I've had it before getting tips from people you charge gratuity too. Doesn't always happen, but sometimes.

it's a bitch, so i hear. plus depending on the place, it could be viably ugly as a job as well. literally, ugly and depressing.

I take it you never severed or did banquets. It can be easy and very fun and very profitable

it can be easy, sure. i've been. my family worked at one, and my Grandma was the manager, and i've seen it all. and it's awfully depressing. sure it can be easy.
i said it was depressing. and i mean, it's a bitch because of that fact, not because it was especially hard. just that it's tedious, boring, and grating on the nerves.

ive worked banquts before. i hated it to be honest. made $10 an hour and i dont think tips were allowed, or we just didnt get them.
fucking hated that job. some bitch made up lies about me and got me fired for pretty much no reason. was weird, she probably did me a favor though.
