SNRI(CYMBALTA) and Mushrooms- Tripping Possible?

I take 30 mg of Cymbalta an SNRI a day. I am about to embark on my first shrooom trip in 4 days. I have discontinued medication as of today, because I keep reading that uSNRI will negate the effects, but then some people say they trip fine. Don't worry about my discontinuing my medication- it is not for depression- it is actually for nerve damage (Cymbalta treats this too) what do I do? Should I be fine with 3.5g of dried P. Cubensis? Or am I totally screwed in this experience? Please help me. Thank you!

I have absolutely no idea about the interactions between mushrooms and Cymbalta. However, I have personally witnessed a person on Cymbalta (taking it as prescribed) get moderate to full effects from taking 25I-NBOMe (actually laboratory confirmed as being 25I).
Clearly, 25I and mushrooms are very very different drugs and this was just one case. I mention it because I found it very strange and unexpected that it actually worked (I told them it probably wouldn't). I don't know if it is possible with duloxetine specifically and not other anti-depressants (maybe SNRIs are somehow easier for psychedelics to counteract due to being less selective for serotonin?) or if this is a phenomenon only possible with NBOMes and not other psychedelics (25I does have a ridiculously strong affinity for the 5-HT2a receptor). Whatever the reason, I found it very interesting that even while on a daily dose of Cymbalta they were able to achieve a ++/+++.
Once again, no idea how it would apply to mushrooms or why it worked in this one case with 25I but I thought I'd contribute something odd I've witnessed.

I also feel compelled to ask how/if Cymbalta is affecting you psychologically OP? Just because the person I am talking about was prescribed it for pain and secondarily for anxiety but it did almost literally nothing but make it worse for her. It caused her to have visuals while sober, have the zapping/electric feelings people sometimes get from anti-depressants, and worst of all caused a very uncharacteristic apathy & suicidal ideation, along with hostility.
It sort of helped her at first but after like a month or so, the negative effects developed and totally outweighed the benefits.
If it's working for you, then that's great. But it just concerns me that something with such severe potential psychological side effects is being marketed and prescribed for physical ailments like neuralgia.
So, yeah, I guess I would just recommend being aware of this. I felt like mentioning it simply because I have had a pretty extreme negative third-person experience of duloxetine.

Ive had the same general side effects but with celexa. I was taking it for anxiety it made everything worse including very severe depression. However while I was on celexa I did do salvia 2 consecutive times and acheved level 4 trips both times. but salvia is a different ball park completely. op if youre really that worried about it interfering and you can handle being off your meds (some cant and i completely understand if you cant) then stop taking them for a week, trip balls then start up again. If you have severe anxiety or depression I wouldn't recommend it though.

My gf takes cymbalta and has tripped fine on just about everything we've taken. Though i would be cautious with certain research chemicals, though mushrooms should be fine. Some people notice a decrease in effects, but give it a go and see. So far for us it hasn't been an issue

Confession (disclosure): I am new to not just this forum, but to psychedelics. I tripped on shrooms once about 10 years ago. It was pretty mild. Now I'm growing my own for myself and my gf and I've been dosing myself to determine potency since she has never tripped. I'm kind of glad I found this thread since I take Cymbalta and she takes no SNRIs or SSRIs.
The thread you linked is specifically about SSRIs. Cymbalta (duloxetine) is an SNRI which is not just a different drug, but a slightly different class of drugs. What you thought you were doing was comparing Albino Penis Envy to Albino A+. What you did was compare Psylocybin to LSD.
Also, the last two days I have consumed 15g & 22g fresh APE (respectively). The first night I felt a little stoned and had no nausea. The most I got on the 2nd day was warping and a lesson in not staring in a dark mirror when you're not prepared to. I did have quite a bit of nausea (but not emesis) for about an hour. I also sat in a shower for about 30 minutes and each time I closed my eyes, I didn't so much get visuals as shadows and then philosophical thought trains that ended when I opened my eyes. Each time I closed my eyes it was different. I'm a little envious of some of the insane trip reports I read.
I take 60mg Cymbalta each morning for anxiety and up to 3600mg gabapentin throughout the day. (The gabapentin it reported to have no negative effect on the trip, btw.) The first evening I had not taken Cymbalta in 12 hours. The second morning it had been 24 hours since my last dose. Cymbalta is fast acting, so I do start to get withdrawals (depression, anxiety, panic attacks) between 36 and 48 hours after a regular dose. I was hoping this was long enough to mitigate any reduction any intensity of the trip. Either it greatly affects the ability to trip or my dose of shrooms was too low OR my shrooms do not have great kung-fu. I believe more research is necessary and over the next few months I will report back what I find.

Without skipping my anxiety meds, I had a full on level 5 trip yesterday. I had to take about 46g fresh and then vaped some flowers just before the peak, but yes, you can definitely trip while on 60mg duloxetine (Cymbalta).
