Hey y'all.
Im a knife collector. Im not a stabber. Just wanted you to know.
Just bought a new Wartech USA knife. Its pretty dope. Wish i could upload a photo.
Heres a description: it has a redish craved wood grip in the middle, the rest is black painted metal with futuristic carvings in the metal. The blade is a plain one sided 4inch black painted blade.
Its pretty sweet.
Anyone into knives too?

I wanna buy one made in damascus steel but they're quite expensive and I'm throwing away a lot of money lately. Not really into knifes but I considered doing damascus by myself just because of the beauty of it

I have a gerber LHR ...im into fixes blade tactical knives,switch blades,stilletos,butterfly knives along with high quality Damascus fighting knives and even bad ass cooking knives

I bought a cheap ass switchblade at a gas station the other day and it broke within 3-4 days. Nevertheless it made me realize how cool knives are and now I wanna start a collection. Thinking about ordering a slightly higher end switchblade off amazon soon.

ive owned a bunch but all got sold for dope except the one i recently bought. ive had a strider SMF knockoff that was really high quality. and a knockoff CR Nyala that was also badass a spyderco military, cold steel tilite and a few others not as noteworthy
id kill for a legit CR sebenza or strider SMF but their just too damn expensive
i love fondleing high quality knives though. you can just tell the difference when your holding a benchmade or spyderco compaired to CRKT or buck
this is the only one i have right now. its razor sharp with no relief edge, #2 blue paper steel. handmade by Nagao Higonokami
i dont feel like getting out a camera cause i dont have a cellphone atm, but this is exactly what it looks like, exept mine is 120mm

you should check out Microtech and Protech. they will never break unless you do it intentionally
benchmade makes some sweet autos too. i love the AFO II and auto prisidios

I just thought it was pretty. I used to have alot more too before I sold most of them in my "drugs are more important" days. I miss my dragon blade the most. Kinda looked like this guy.
And it is indeed just a novelty. But I don't find these any less pretty.

if you ever feel like your not getting your fix of knife porn OP, you should hit up http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/forum.php there are trading and marketplaces that are great for finding lightly used knives for cheap. its a pretty massive community
the mods can be lame, and theres an air of elitism, but there are some hardcore collectors on there and you'll see lots of custom knives
its definately worth checking out if you have any questions about knives n stuff. there are also subforums for tools like axes n shit, and fantasy blades

Fine I have switched the spoiler onto that so nobody has to see my dirty bathroom I think my bathroom is cozy and inviting. It kind of has that "I hate my life" quality that I prefer in my decoration.
(That counter is actually just been cleaned. When I walk out of the bathroom I basically just start swimming in a sea of empty beer, liquor, and prescription pill bottles mixed in with trash and rotting food. there is a mattress and a laptop floating on top and I spend most of my time crouched down between the two feet between the horde and the cieling wiping my boogers on the wall and peeing in bottles.)

No I will not have you poking fun at my outdated appliances. There are plenty of gross points to my bathroom but I have seen much worse in my travels. What I have is the pinnacle of 1980 design and engineering, with a great patina on it especially the hard to reach spots on the toilet bowl. Oh it is just beautiful but I am not sharing that. I just wanted to show off my knives.

This is my only good knife besides a pocket knife or two, made by the illustrious Monte Zavatta. He does amazing work. Not my picture but its pretty much identical.

Two of my knives are military knives.
First the Fairbairn-Sykes Fighting Knife aka the Killing Knife or Krautsticker, used against Nazi Germany and still milspec, the only knife with a NATO catalog number:
This one by Nowill & Sons, a quality manufacturer.
Next the Fallkniven F1 Swedish Pilot Survival Knife, a supreme heavy duty knife that splits logs and keeps on cutting:

What kind of knife are you planning on getting, Logical Chaos?
Onezeros' knife is indeed beautiful. Love the shape of the blade as well as the beautiful handle/grip.
Anyone here know if I could change the grip on my Cold Steel I posted? And where I'd go about buying one?
I want to get rid of that somewhat ugly black plastic and have a semi-glossy oak grip.

unfortunately, your stuck with the scales that came with that knife. it uses a cold-steel proprietary locking system called the "tri-ad" lock
theoretically, professional (see: tuffthumbz youtube channel) knife customizers can make scales for tri-ad lock knives, but your gonna be paying 300$+ easy. and since the voyager is about a 40-80$ knife... and most other tri-ad locking knives are under 300$, its not really worth it
and oak especially hard to work with, the maker would probably have to crate custom steel liners so the scales wont break. oak is alot weaker than g-10

Honestly, i dont know where to start
There is so much variety of knifes out there, its mind boggling!
I guess i would start with the futuristic/sci fi looking ones now. really liking those.
Then maybe move to more traditional/historicaal knifes

Thanks for the info. Like you stated, it's such a cheap knife (I payed just under $50 for it) that there's no way in hell I'd spend so much money just to make it look a little nicer.
Also, it doesn't have to be oak, I just wanted any type of wood as a grip in a semi glossy or maybe even matte finish.
I'm not into collecting knives at all really. I just have this one laying around for personal protection and for work but I would like to buy one nice knife that looks aesthetically pleasing to me soon.

the swedge (upper edge) isnt meant to be sharp. even if you buy an expensive or older bowie its not gonna be sharp enough to cut you unless an end user sharpened it on their own
mainly cause it doesnt need to be, and it would make the knife illegal to carry outdoors in some countries,including the US, cause it constitutes a "double edge" and they think that means it can only be used for violence

The second edge is to gut big game. Slice up, then slice through and down. One large straight clean cut without twisting or pulling out your knife. Keeping your meat from being pre-butchered.

you may be right about the double edge laws, im not really read up im just going by what ive read. i guess there are a few states that allow it, but most don't. and if you kill someone with a double edged knife, even in self defense, your gonna get charged with something
but i can pretty much garuntee most bowies aren't gonna have sharpened swedges.
cold steel makes several 150-300$ bowies, all swedges unsharpened
chris reeve makes several bowies, again, no sharp swedges
KA-BAR makes several bowies, none with sharpened swedges. even the ones the military would issue don't
even your knife you posted for example, take a look at these photo from a different angle

the swedge is clearly unsharpened, whereas you can see the beveled cutting edge on the front
i could go on with different companies, but those are 3 well known ones, plus your own knife. not saying there arent any bowies out there with sharpened swedges, but they really arent made like that and people just put em on themselves
i go to knife shows (actually gun shows, but people bring lots of knives too) and ive seen a fuckton of bowies and knives in general. approximately very very few had sharp swedges, and the ones that did werent even bowies

Yeah Bowies are cool and definitely only for hunting. Mine is a Buck knife. Generally buck knifes are just replica bowie knifes. Ive tried to give it my own edge on a number of other blades but it greaty comprimises the integrity of the blade. They are definately a precision peice of work. Double edged anything really makes it tricky to stich a person back up. Infact its quite grusome. The worst of the worst is the 3 sided trench knifes of world war one. this one pictured I think is your standard 2 edged. But WW1 3 sided trench knifes could look like that or mounted and very long bayonet. Its blade was the shape of a pyramid. Once stabbed with this weapon, it leaves a gaping hole, bigger than a bullet wound, impossible to stich. Impossible. You will bleed out.
It cuts a perfect circle right into ya with no effort.
They have "rules" for war now. Kinda ironic. I wanna kill you but not like this. They were banned in the Genova convention after ww1 along with chemical warfare.

I remeber watching that with my grandfather. I shit you not. Is was the first time I saw his. He bought it at a gun swap or gun show in Oregon. It had some serious weight too it. Easily 4 or 5 lbs. It felt like holding a little more than a quarter gallon of water. His didnt have the spike knuckes but they were the hexongonic shaped knuckles. Ima have to get some damn pics.
