Obeying the Law

Might seem like an ironic question to a bunch of illicit drug users, but more often than not do you obey the law? Why or why not? What motivates you. Honor, reason, or punishment

I answered yes, because generally I do. I'm not one of those "fuck the man I do what I want types" other than my drug use. In general it's stupid to break the law. What does it really get you? Just a bunch of court, probation, maybe even jail.

With my face against the floor I can’t see who knocked me out of the way. I don’t want to get back up but I have to so it might as well be today. Nothing appeals to me no one feels like me, I’m too busy being calm to disappear. I’m in no shape to be alone contrary to the shit that you might hear. You can't wake up, this is not a dream. You're part of a machine, you are not a human being With your face all made up, living on a screen. Low on self esteem, so you run on gasoline

A little bit of everything, I guess.
Until someone thinks of a better (realistic) alternative, I'm glad we have something in place to deal with things like murder, rape, child molestation, etc.
Traffic laws and the threat of punishment are the only things that keep me from getting fucking killed every time I get into my car, based on the way people drive now...
A lot of laws I follow just because I think it's wrong to steal, commit violence in most cases, screw people over, etc. In those cases I'm not really following the law... I'm just not being a dick.

You disobeyed the laws of the shroomery by making an invalid poll with no STAL

For the most part I do. The law is irrelevant if I want to do something though.

Laws are ridiculous.
Do we need a law that says you can't kill? Do we need a law that says you can't steal?
Laws don't even prevent crime, they just create it.
You shouldn't need laws to be a good person.

I obey most laws.
But I've been breaking one for the past 5 years, every day.

So basically laws have no effect on you because you will follow the ones you want to?

Laws are kinda a grey area aren't they... With the NSA illegally storing all data they can get their hands on from the whole planet. The ongoing enocide of native peoples (and ancient knowledge) around the world. The destruction of the planets lungs (forests) is... Legal, but definitely not moral. Laws are rules a government uses to regulate themselves in any way they see fit. Laws are guidelines for police and courts to control a population and keep it oppressed.
I follow humanity. I live a peaceful life and don't ruffle other peoples feathers, but I don't agree with laws. Laws are not moral, laws are not humane.

most of the oxygen production is done by floating algae in the ocean iirc
that's not to say the destruction being done to the amazon wont have serious consequences (it most likely will) but i don't even think the logging being done there is even mostly legal. a lot of times its illegal logging and slash and burn.
i don't think laws are unnecessary, i think many times they are needed to bring justice to those who deserve it, and keep things prim and proper... ie environmental laws. fuck up the planet, everyone suffers.
