Well from the plant to the leaf tip the bigger ones measure about 8.5 inches.........but 1 to 2 inches of that is leaf stem.....
Average of about 5 inches of leaf....stem not included

I've seen some really big leaves in the wild as well as from indoor specimens in huge buckets...
My leaves are on average 5 inches (not including leaf stem to petiole) and 2-3 inches wide.

leaf 10Inch
High levels of light result in more but smaller leafs, less light = larger leafs but less.

10in or a little more is normal (counting the 'stem'). SE's theory is damn right, on the more or less lighting...

"1 foot from the top of the plants"
I had my fluros 1-2 inch away from the tops.
I was wondering, salvia has stages of growth. Does a plant 15-20 inchs tall grow faster than a plant 5 inchs tall. The reason i ask i have a plant about 20 inch tall and it seem to be growing faster than some 10 inch plant but both are well rooted and in 6 inch pots. The plant grows from young to mature and in mature it really grows like a 1/4 inch a week.

My spec is filtered sun light, that?s all. You can adjust the light levels by increasing or decreasing the amount of filtering material (bubble rap and semi-translucent white bin bags. Don?t reduce the levels too much though!
All my plants are well fed and use compost with lots or perlite.
They live in a very high humidity environment, which is risky as there is more change of fungal and pest attacks, but the plants look good grown like this .

The level of light I refer to is just an observation I do not measure light levels or anything like that, just added more bubble rap to protect the plants from direct sun light.
