Under mushroom intoxication you should add what herbs would be good for someone having a bad trip. A lot of people prefer not to do corporate drugs.

Day tripper, go to the guide and click on species in the index. That in turn leads you to a list of 56 species. click any of the species listed and it immediately goers to the photos of the species as well as the description. I am still adding the pages as wqe speak

Look around. many of them are top quality and excellent and are used for identifying the 55 species I have listed. Of which only 9 species are common around the world or tot he PNW.

Hey Whitegreyhat,
there are3 two large published papers here at the shrooemry on the distribution of two fifteen psychoactive mushrooms containing psilocine and/or psilocybine.
mapping the mycelial network from Trip magazine and The distribution of the Neuptropic Species byu Guzman, Me and Gartz. The articles give locations for most shrooms worldwide. So that answers that question. Few people go tot he FAQS. And I just added 250 new cubensis photos ionto the site and i am adding the Amanita pages tomorrow. Then the cyansecens, almost five hundred couonting the woodchip, lawn and dried or int he drying stage photos of cyans. All enlarge to a full screen sixe of usuall 8 inches high.

Ok got a question here, i live in venezuela, in mountains near the capital, went mushroom hunting yesterday and found this really strange ones, just 2 of them on a dead tree log, they are orange and have no stem (or just a little small one), they look just like an orange's skin and have a spongy texture...when i grabbed them they got psilo blue...i think i might have discovered a new psilocybe specimen, if anyone knows a specimen by this description please post a picture or message, cause i haven't seen it on the net....

hey MJ,
It looks good so far, but how about adding in some other species from the Psilocybe genus, just for completeness
There's alot of photos and info even just on this forum that you could use. I woudl find it very interesting to browse through a list that had information on almost all of the psilocybian shrooms
But as I say, great work so far!! kudos

Lemurian, without photos and escriptions no one int he world could tell if you found a new species or not.
So Here are the known psychoactive species reported in journals from Venezuela, with references
Claviceps paspali (Grasso, 1955; Dennis, 1970)
C. purpurea (Grasso, 1955; Dennis, 1970)
Copelandia cyanescens (Gerhardt, 1996)
Gerronema fibula (Dennis, 1970)
Gymnopilus lateritius (Pegler & Calonge, 1997)
Panaeolus venezolanus (Guzm?n, 1978c; Gerhardt, 1996)
Psilocybe caerulescens var. caerulescens (Guzm?n, 1983; Stamets, 1996)
P. meridensis (Guzm?n, 1995)
P. plutonia (Dennis, 1970; Pegler, 1983; Guzm?n, 1983)
P. subcubensis (Guzm?n, 1983; Marcano et al., 1994)
P. subyugensis (Guzm?n, 1983)
I think maybe there are sevral in this list that you have never seen before.
mj
Have a shroomy day. High Haunted. How goes it?
And if it was spongy then most likely t=you have a bluing boletus which are poisonous and have no gills. They satin blue also. But are separated form hunting for them by their spongy bottome porous texture underneath their stipes.
While psilocybian shrooms and especially those of the Agaricales have gills. mjshroomer.

You can add that suggar and Vitamin C (in lemons for example) are a good way to lower the psilocin in your body. A hot tea (w/o shrooms!) with suggar and lemon can be a good way to get you out of the trip and make you calm. Besides something hot to drink is always something very nice, warm (also emotionaly) on the Voyage. It can be a good way to get out of the bad trip.

Hi Evan,
Thanks for letting me know. Took a while to find the page link.
I was working on the new Samuiensis pages. They should be up in a few days. 109 new images from last summer of P. samuiensis from Na Muang, Koh Samui. Plus also 23 from 1991, 30 from 2001 and 14 images from 2003.
So I will try to put the pages together and enlarged images for the look-a-lokes. I should look and see how many people go tot hat page.
have a shroomy day,

I noticed you used the old pictures of Ps. Aucklandii. Last season I took a bunch of pictures that were clearer and easier to tell what they are - if you dig through my posts and do a search for Aucklandii, you'll find them. Anyone around here looking for that species would really appreciate a clearer picture of them.

Is there any way we can get that in PDF format, preferably with the individual shroom things either in a separate file or at the end?
That would be fantabulous.

The book is here at the shroomery buit the picture list is linked to the site. I am not sure how to do that. Maybe someone here could rewrite it.

I believe that image is from King who discovered the species and had the taxonomy with Guzm?n on it.
I still haven't finished the species. I am currently adding images to the species which should have been added a year ago.
