I would like to note that when using the above jars compared to the glad cups, the PC does not have to be slowly brought up to temp to eliminate condensation.

i think im in love with this tek honestly. The glad plates work fantastically. Although not as visible as some of my glass plates but it allows me to experiment more.
Possibly twenty going right now. All badd ass looking rhizomes ready for inoculation. Really amazing results.

I'm using jars like that for agar and lc also. Though I do have quite a few pasty plates colonizing with Azur's pe and big pe at the moment. I still get condensation on the sides of the glass. How does one prevent this from happening? Perhaps it's something I'm over looking? By the way, that agar you are using is just about as dark as the agar recipe I am working on. Is that just grain water that you are using that makes it that dark or are you using something else? Because I haven't seen anyone use anything else besides simple sugars and grain water to feed our little friends at that stage of their growth.

The two biggest factors in condensation is temp drop while the pc is cooling and how much agar is used. Bring pressure down slow and never open the PC until completely cool. Use less agar in each container as well if you're having problems that a slow temp drop won't fix. I almost never have condensation in my no pour plates.

Incubating your glass agar vessels at (or as close to) 75F and 50%RH will check condensation.

Thanks for all of the info, pasty and loaf. I think I know what the problem is that I have been having. I was actually letting the pc pressure go down and then taking the lid off to let it cool down the rest of the way but I guess I will be more patient next time. Also, thanks for stimulating my curious mind once again, bl.

I like these ones instead of the mini rounds. greenwood products are awesome.
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005XTC2LS/ref=biss_dp_t_asn (2oz)
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005XTC3G2/ref=biss_dp_t_asn (4oz)
Which would be better 2 oz or 4 oz?
Oh wait i found a image.

4 oz all the way.

I use powdered dark malt extract instead of light malt extract. It was cheaper.

I get a pound of GLME for 5 bucks and change at the brewing supply store down the street. Any noticeable difference between dark and light ME in terms of how the mushrooms like it?
