Albino B+?? - Help Identifying, Please
    #21425560 - 03/18/15 07:03 AM (9 years, 2 months ago)

Greetings Shroomies,

I need your help identifying this mushroom, please.

It is from a spent B+ cake that I had thrown outside.

It looks to my inexpert eye like a B+, but without color, also the cap seems thicker.

It also smells slightly different than a B+ to me.

Is it safe to eat?  Psychedelic?

Thank you for your identification assistance!

Tammy

Hi bw86,

I guess I was just using the world albino, bc it seemed to be lacking color....but you're right, there is pigment.

From where I scraped the dirt off the stem, it is maybe a very lightish blue.

I have experienced other types of mushrooms growing from cakes that I have thrown outside, that weren't what i inoculated the cake with...so I was unsure.

I'd say that is not active.  Maybe an Agrocybe sp...?

I think it is Psilocybe cubensis. You can see the veil in picture #2 and bruising toward the top of the stem in picture #1. Additionally, it happened to spawn from an old Psilocybe cubensis cake. Looks relatively like a cube too. That all points in one direction for me.

It is P. Cubensis for sure.
