Ok, so I went to a nice size smaller fruiting chamber. It has 6 cakes with 4 different kinds of spores. So, some back story; when I removed the cakes, a few were a little brittle from me banging on the glass to get them out. Some of the bottoms of the cakes crumbled and made a mess in the perlite. Before that I had spray down the perlite with mildly chlorinated water to help battle contams. From then on I just sprayed with regular water. About 3 days later, I had moved the chamber and some of the cakes tipped over into the perlite for a few seconds. Well, most of the cakes are pinning pretty evenly. But, I had two shrooms who seem to be over achievers and grew crazy fast right as the others just started to pin. Figured I'd pick them and try out my new food dehydrator (learned from my mistake from last time). The stems seem very white but at the bends there is this dark purple-ish 'ash' on it. It wipes off easily and it's white underneath.

I'd imagine it's still safe to consume, but due to me being a noob and the nature of shrooms, I figured it would be best to ask as I haven't seen it on any of the contam threads.
Now one cake does have me worried. It's got this white foam looking stuff on the top of one of the cakes. It also has this green hue under a patch of the top of the cake that seems to be under the mycelium. I'm thinking it's bruising due to the rough handling getting them out of their jars. But that foamy white stuff is what has me curious. This is the only one that seems to have it.

You should edit out your sponsors name it's against the rules to put a vendors name with regards to growing they sell spores for microscope use only. The "ash" on you shroom is the spore from it still edible just not as tasty. The white foam does not look good although I can give no explanation of it.

Ah, understood and removed. And, wow I'm surprised the spores released that fast. Although I assumed as much because the underbelly of the cap. It's just crazy those two grow so much quicker than the others. Anyway, thanks for the help.
