wells fargo gives credit cards to a lot of people.
but i would try walmart first i have no idea if you can apply online but i would guess so.
19 points isnt really a lot of shift. i went from 1% utilization to 12% in January and it dropped 40 then came up 20. i suspect it will come up again soon.
what you need is 700 or above. credit karma is free. and will show you your problem areas. and gives you credit card offers and shows you your chance at getting them, if it says chance is poor... WAIT. and do a store card.
https://www.creditkarma.com/
its free. i've used it for several years. its VERY helpful.
Credit Karma's offers aren't really what you should be applying for. They are paid to put those links there. They are advertisements really. It said I should apply for the Visa Black when my score was sub 600. No way in hell would I have got that at the time.

having different TYPES of loans does help tho. and so having a car loan would have been new.

I got my first credit card at 19, a secured credit card from capital one with a 200$ limit from a 50$ deposit. The only thing I used it for was for monthly netflix payments. I'm 21 now and they increased it to 300$ and then 750$ without me having to put down another deposit. Rarely I would use it for anything else, but if I did it was for something random worth less than 100$. Except for this winter I bought some snowboarding gear.
My second card was a credit card from kohls at age 20 which I didn't realize I was applying for until he told me I was approved LOL. I thought I was applying for a rewards card. That has an 800$ limit. Also rarely use except to buy a shirt or socks or chocolate or something so they see I'm using it.
Third card was from best buy at age 20 which has a 2000$ limit. I only really used it to buy random shit when I used to work there but now I just buy stuff to let them know I'm using it.
My credit score last time I checked was 739 during new years which I used to apply for a car loan.

Ya all my previous cars I had just bought outright in cash, that was my first car finance. Maybe he's right but it had to have helped.. I mean I went from a shit credit score to a pretty good one in about ~2 years, and the car payment was the only major thing that changed.

I got an anual fee card by lying to the credit card companies about my income. I put 300$ on it (maxed) and I pay 25$ monthly on it
They started me off with a 664 credit score, and since paying it monthly for about a year my credit score is now almost 700.
I'll have a perfect score in a matter of 3-4 years
I'm 24
