the us government's view on all drug, (but espeacially hallucinogens) is flawed. the simple fact that alcohol is legal but cannibis isn't, is a testiment to the fact that drug laws are designed to further control and prohibit the mind expansion of human beings. alcohol makes people more stupid and volnerable to the government. i know this may sound a little too political or paranoid , but i believe it is true. tobbacco and alcohol are legal because the government designed them to stimulate the economy for one thing, ( nicotine and alcohol are both very addictive and the government loves to take advantage of primitve and dependant behavior) and it they kill a lot of people (population control). Now, you're proboly wondering, " shit, the government could make a killing by legalizing weed and taxing it". Well listen to this, in 1937 Congress passed the Marijuana Tax Act, it put a tax on weed. what happened though is that weed took over all over agricultural goods, like wheat or cotten. Then of course in 1970 the government decided to reform all existing drug laws make weed extremely illegal. but why? weed is harmless( keep in mind, no one has ever died strictly because they overdose on thc) . well here is a theory proposed by a few good people: weed is a hallucinogen, so it opens certain doorways in your brain. allowing you to eventually( depending on how much you believe in this or how much you smoke or consume) see through socetiy's shallow existence. weed also decreases your competiness which is key to a dominator society( see terrence mckenna, he was a supreme philosipher/scientist who studied the beautify of ethogens and the frighteningly oblivious current state of human culture.) with that all said you can picture that the government is very dishonest and corrupt , espeacially with drugs. Now LSD, SHROOMS, DMT, and other indoles were ignored until about 1969 with lsd and i'm sure about the rest but anyway , as you all know shrooms are relatively harmless and lsd is physically now fatal so why are they illegal? same as weed , they are a threat to the government plain and simple.
this has been a lot of boring info i know but here's my though on the current "drug war" hysteria: Who the fuck cares? free up the prisons, tax the drugs, make them safer by having the fda regulate them like anything else, and let us free are selves!

I don't believe the drug war is due to some conspiracy to keep the population stupid and controllable, the govt. aren't smart enough to think of that
I believe it's just the result of poor education about drugs and LOTS of superstitions and misinformation which people(including govt. officials) readily accept
it all started with that goddamn "reefer madness" movie
fear of the new and unusual can have serious negative effects on society - i.e. stunting social progress
