So I went to volunteer today. Someone called in a bomb threat. Was crazy. Of course everyone suspected the anti abortionists (who had absolutely nothing to do with it) but was interesting none the less. Spent 3 hours simply hanging out, and praying to stop abortion

Damnit now I have that song in my head
-------------------- I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Turns out the bomb was actually weed lol. But fun to have everyone think we were trying to blow it up. No need for that bullshit. Still I couldn't stop smiling in the news photo

I have two friends who had abortions and one who was waiting to have her abortion when she miscarried. Guess what? All of those women made the choice to terminate their pregnancies because they knew they were not in a position to give those babies the prosperous and stable life they felt the child would deserve. They were realistic and acknowledged they could not care for a child at that point in their life. None of them came to the decision lightly and none of them made the choice out of hate. They did it out of love. All of them acknowledged that this clump of cells would become a child if they decided to continue their pregnancies. Because they could not care for a child, they made the tough and selfless decision to terminate.
I also have two friends who work at planned parenthood. One is an RN and one is a PA. They do not work for PP because they hate babies. They work there because they love their sisters and want to offer choices to women so these women can choose to start families when they are in a stable place to do so. They offer compassionate, affordable care and education to women in the area and I for one am grateful for the work they do. You should also understand PP not only provides contraception and abortions, they do STD screenings and annual wellness checks which are extremely expensive if you do not have insurance. They are not in the business of "killing babies," they are in the business of women's health.
Abortion and contraception have always been a part of life. There are many herbs that can induce miscarriage and these were utilized by different populations since the beginning of time. It is not like terminating pregnancy is this new thing that was dreamed up by the western world only recently, we just turned it into a political/religious/moral issue rather than a medical issue.
Last but not least, we do not know what someone else had been through or what they are dealing with. How and when a person chooses to reproduce is a very personal matter and is not going to be the same for everyone. Let's try to be compassionate and empathetic instead of abusive and judgemental, shall we?

1) There is nothing selfless about choosing abortion. The selfless action would be to raise the child and give it the best life possible.
2) Even if life was absolute shit, it's still a better life than NO life. And to refer to their child as a clump of cells is nothing more than a bullshit psychological tatic to water down the truth. If I posted pictures of what gets sucked/cut out of females I would be banned.
3) Planned parenthood makes BANK off abortions and they are funded with our tax dollars. Even in my small town up to 700 children are aborted each YEAR. The STD screening, and health care which is provided can be found at a number of clinics, and low income health operators....so much for that argument
There is nothing loving, there is nothing selfless about abortion when done by the vast bulk of females. It's completely selfish and is rooted in selfishness. This is nothing more than trafficking in human misery and YOU ought to be ashamed of yourself

Forcing women to have babies they cannot care for and/or do not want is what is trafficking in human misery.
I think YOU should be ashamed. You stand outside a clinic with the the other zealots to impose your beliefs on women you know absolutely nothing about on what may be the hardest day of their life. You take time time out of your day to make a bad day worse for complete strangers. If a woman wants religious counseling and prayer during a pregnancy crisis, she will go to church. If she wants information about all of the options that are available to her during this very personal experience in her life, she will go to the clinic.

I hope you get as pissed at people when they do Yoga in the park. There is nothing wrong with a peaceful prayer Vigil that simply shows/informs girls to other alternatives.
No one is making any days worse.
No one is throwing themselves on cars or screaming at people.
It's a simply sign that says "Prayers to end Abortion". Then you sit there and pray, mellow, smile and wave....or eat a sandwhich. Please inform me where's the cruelty.
And should the mom go get the abortion done, there are even resources available to help them (if they need it). For counseling from such a potentialy scarring event.
What bigoted ass holes amirite

It might warm some hearts here to know at the start of this prayer Vigil some local protestant churches get angry and set up across the street hosting a 40 day prayer for the right to choose.
It might also be worth noting that after a week they no longer showed up and only the Catholics have held their ground . I think there's a kind of irony in such a lack of integrity for those against the pro life movement.
After all its what pro choice is all about right? Throwing in the towel so you can get back to what YOU wanna do
