Toxic food additivs
    #21415683 - 03/16/15 12:22 PM (9 years, 2 months ago)

I was trying to explain to this guy in e cig forum
http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/21414826

That certain chemicals are very harmful for your bodies... things like aspartame which is very toxic even tho its sweet

I tried to explain that some e cig flavours also contain toxic flavour chemicals... he went bananas, got butt hurt and locked my thread

How do you even know specific brands of ejuice contain said chemicals?

You don't have any legit sources to back up your claims you're making them and expecting people to just believe you on faith

Most reputable ejuice vendors will gladly inform you of what specific flavoring agents are in their juices all you have to do is ask them

Let alone if you make your own juice this is just fear-mongering and until you post some solid evidence that's all it will be

It's a link to a thread he started in the E-Cig forum saying basically the same thing

He claims there are dangerous additives in ejuice but he doesn't have any evidence to back his claims up check the link he posted and see for yourself

In short he's just spewing bullshit that's why his thread got locked

Edit: Oh I misunderstood your post my bad

Maybe there is a link somewhere on the Internet going into detail.about these "dangerous additives"

But until he finds it and posts it here why should he be taken seriously?

For most, there is a lack of safety data.

This is different than evidence of toxicity, however.

Use proven examples when making arguments. The butter flavoring used in e-cig juice is very similar to the one that causes "popcorn worker's lung" and should be avoided. By using concise, proven examples and strong logic your argument can stand on it's own and will be far more likely to convince the opposite side.

But due to it's lack of regulation, it could contain (virtually) anything.

I don't get this health craze, I really don't. It's like some guy just wakes up one day and decides his lifestyle is the one to be lived by. That he has ALL the answers and if you don't listen, you're in immediate danger.

I eat fast food because while some of it is good, most times I just simply don't have the time to cook for myself. I drink heavily because I want to, I smoke because I want to, I do a thousand things a day because I want to.

STOP TRYING TO CONVERT PEOPLE TO YOUR "RELIGION". It is goddamn fucking annoying. If someone gave a shit, there are plenty of idiots out there telling them it's bad. THEY DON'T GIVE A SHIT get it through your heads.

You know what? Exhaust fumes are bad for you. Let me know when you find a planet devoid of them, then you can stand on your soap box and tell us all how we're destroying our bodies. Until then, just shut the fuck up already.

And yes, you (or someone) is going to call me butthurt, but the truth is, after enough times, It's just plain out fucking annoying.

I don’t want to get back up but I have to so it might as well be today.
Nothing appeals to me no one feels like me, I’m too busy being calm to disappear.
I’m in no shape to be alone contrary to the shit that you might hear.

You can't wake up, this is not a dream. You're part of a machine, you are not a human being

Agreed.  And even the "major" U.S. manufacturers don't always accurately disclose the contents of their products.

This is just an example of people who act as if a safety precaution is some huge change to their life.

Fear-mongering?

Since when is questioning the safety of a product fear-mongering?  Are you of afraid of change?  Do you smoke e-cigs and are afraid that you may want to give it up if it is in the end deemed unhealthy?

There is incoming research to determine the health risks associated with e-cigs, some of it is specifically related to the 2nd hand breathing in of e-cigs.

I'm not saying for certain for either side, but i dont see any problems in letting people know about a POSSIBLE issue?

That's because most of the time when safety concerns are brought up in America, it's to get the product in question banned by bringing up (w/o evidence) that something might be dangerous. Especially *cough* when much of that research is payed for by companies with a vested interest in getting the product banned.

Me, I try to grow as much of my own food as possible, and buy as healthy as possible when I need to.  I quit eating fast food and pre-packaged food, stopped drinking soda, and learned how to cook and garden.  Less weird shit in my food that way.  But everyone is entitled to their own choice.

I think it's funny that we used to sweeten our food with "sugar of lead".

And we used to make our carpets and mattresses from asbestos. Laugh every tiem.
