When was your last Cosmic Giggle?
    #21406560 - 03/14/15 01:42 PM (9 years, 2 months ago)

I'm talking about when you laugh so hard and uncontrollably; that you wind up also crying and unable to differentiate between the tears and the laughter.

I had one today over belly button lint.

They only ever happen spontaneously, ime. When they do, they are so goddamn cathartic that I wish I could package that feeling up or turn it into a pill or something. :happyheart:

:laugh2:

Ahh, it's been too long. Laughter is truly divine

I had an unexpected cathartic experience today though while I was playing/singing Across the Universe. Mid-song I started tearing up hardcore. Never started unexpectedly crying in all my years of playing. Feels amazing to feel again

Meditation is beautiful.

It was probably a couple months ago, shortly after 40 minutes in zazen.  I wouldn't say I was "laughing uncontrollably", but I found myself positively amused by the absurdity of things.  It's a practice I really should keep up, but y'know, self-discipline and what not.

was talking to my mom and my sister on skype the other day, my 2 year old niece was there too trying to be the center of attention as always. now my niece is kind of skittish about new people, like she wouldn't even look at me for the first 2 or 3 times she met me.
My girlfriend was over and having a nap on the other side of the bed so was hidden behind me, she woke up and peaked her head over my shoulder to see what was going on... massive dready hair sticking out every which way.
My niece saw this, freaked the fuck out over the strange head with massive hair suddenly appearing and she screamed then jumped off the counter a good 10 feet or so straight AT my sister (who caught her thankfully)
it was just the cutest thing and it made me laugh so hard my sides hurt, I couldn't breathe for a good few minutes... it was good times... and I'm probably a horrible uncle for thinking its cute when my niece gets scared.

to me the 'cosmic giggle' is why they are so sacred and healing. It is the RELEASE.

Think about ALL those fukin shitty years they got us in their prisons/schools and if you dare laugh in class they punish you. I grew up when the fuckers could assault you. I was in this class and this old fart was reading this story of these mountaineers who had become stranded and in order to keep warm they had put their hands into the pants of another--his junk to warm them. I of course giggled, so the teach had me stand in the corner and when I continues giggling hit me around the head and sent me out of class!!

When we take shrooms all of that pent up suppression of joy is allowed to be expressed. having said that, I have been with other trippers who still seem to suppress it. Sad

God that reminds me of a similar situation from 1st grade.

I dared to speak/laugh while my teacher was passing out math exams, and my punishment was getting my skirt pulled up and spanked over her knee.

It's amazing how a small incident like that can really shape a person too. I never really realized how much of an effect that experience had on me until pretty recently....I had to go back & forgive her in order to let go, and start finding my voice again.

not for awhile. i used to all the time, and now i have to find reasons to do so, but it's very rare, and not at all as persistent.
