Spiraling/fractal phalaris grass genetics (pics)

So I have been growing a bunch of phalaris from seed, I have been noticing some of the yugo red's are growing in a unique spiral formation.
Instead of straight blades of grass some of them have been spiraling.
I will upload some pictures tomorrow, I was wondering if the genetics will be passed down once I get some of them to seed. It is a pretty cool unique trait.
Any thoughts? I have never seen weird growth like that before, I really hope they pass it on. I would live some fractal phalaris!
Do you think it is from genetics or conditions such as cold?
Here are pics:
Here is one of 6 younger pots:

And here is one of 3 pots of sprouts:

Notice the growth is normal on both of those
Now here is the several ones I first noticed with the curved growth:

Close up of one of them:

Another close up:

Last one:

Whilst looking around I noticed some of the brachystachys phalaris I have is also doing something similiar, which reinforces the cold possibility.
I guess only time will tell, I hope they get even more spiral like with age.

I will have to take some better pics as the lighting was way to dim and my flash made it too bright
The pics let you get the idea though they don't quite do it justice. Most of the plants doing it are still pretty small, so hopefully as they get bigger so will the spirals.

They look like they're strained/stunted, likely from a little cold shock. Not anything genetic.

Yeah I had a feeling that could be it.
They actually seem to be growing pretty healthy though, phalaris can handle some cold.
The ones I have in a warmer greenhouse are not much bigger.
