Metal garages for grow area
    #21407225 - 03/14/15 02:50 PM (9 years, 2 months ago)

Does anyone have any experience using metal 2 car garages for a grow area? What with the high humidity required I am concerned about rust issues. I am thinking grow room in half of the garage and sectioning off half of it in a plastic greenhouse type setup. I would get roughly a 12x41 grow area. Or slightly smaller if I used part of that space for a prep area.

That sounds plenty big and if you do a good job with the poly/framing I bet your rust issue would be minimal. You could have some sort of aeration going outside of the fruiting chamber to prevent condensation.

Oh yea the space is plenty huge. No doubt. For aeration idea I was thinking I might have to have a greenhouse inside a greenhouse. Sealed except for FAE exchange which went from the inner greenhouse to a window. The inner greenhouse being a few inches smaller than the outer one which is sealed as well. And having FAE blowing and flowing in between the two. Maybe even run a dehumidifier in that loops or maybe just running FAE again through another window. I am thinking a smaller solar cell setup would help cut down electricity costs. Although its not bad where I live. But a penny saved is a dollar earned. And I think it would be just fun. Although zoning the solar cells maybe an issue.

Having temperature control of your garage will control your greenhouse and prevent condensation.

If you have two tents you just shift the condensation problem to the outer tent.

Doubt if you need a dehumidifier.

Awesome stuff. Will have to do some experimentation.
