Easy Innoc Loop

I have seen it asked before, tho its rare... Just a quick tip for those that find themselves needing an innoc loop but dont have one. Something I discovered that works well is an Xacto handle and a paper clip. I use the Xacto (with a Z series blade) for agar work as well as for cutting some of the fruits at the base.

So for an extra 70 cents I have 100 disposable innoc loops (paper clips) that can be installed in the xacto handle just as easy as a blade. Just bend the clip like this... It's essentially a metal clamp holding it firmly, so feel free to get that thing RED HOT! No need to stick the paper clip through a pencil eraser. This works out good for me. I hope it can help someone.

^^^ I am sure this is about as good as it can get without just having the real deal on hand.

Good idea. When one of my dehydrators ate shit, I ripped out the heating element and broke it to retrieve the nichrome wire inside of it. This can be twisted into a loop and placed into the X-acto handle just like the paperclip. Heats a little faster, but it's a little harder to come by.

There is an exacto knife that holds a sharp needle you can get, its perfect for this. My loop came with a pack of replacement wire its just thin nichrome wire, Im not sure where you can get it does anyone know? Seems the wire and exacto handle would be perfect!

I use the sterile "splinter out" lances from the first aid kits at work. It's not a loop, but gets got fast.

when i first started, i used to use a butter knife cause i was paranoid of damaging the spores with the blade then i realized there are so many fucking spores, it doesn't matter.
