Why couldn't you put a print directly on some brf or substrate and get some colonization?

the spores needs to absorb water to germinate thats why u need to live ur syrs. 24 hours before use it....
u can put the some dry spores directly to the subs. and wait but if they germinated it's gonna be vveeerryyyy slow or maybe nothing happend...

Mushroom spores aren't exactly like seeds in a plant, they need a sterile enviroment free from competing organisms in order to begin reproducing. That's the mistake most newbies make, in this hobby the initial preparation and handling of the spores and substrate is crucial for optimum results.(read: you must be clean and meticulous) Printing directly on substrate will result in contamination, although it will colonize (very slowly) indoor growing parameters and conditions are different from how they grow in the wild. Also remember that there are more competing bacteria and other organisms indoors than outside.

how they did it sometimes origionally. alot harder to make it steril. get you a scapple and a glove box if you wanna give it a shot. don't recomend it. waste of time.

You don't have to leave a syringe for 24 hours before using. Assuming that what you say is true the spores could absorb the water that they came out on anyways.

depends how old the print is. If you took a print and a made a syringe right away then you can use it right then.
