Damn. I'd be pretty hyped if I were an Eagles fan. I know everyone says its a passing league but if you can depend on your run game you can control the clock and get first downs.

Why would you be hyped that they spent all that cap cash on a position that has seen diminished value with all the rule changes?

Damn Cowboys did him dirty.
Can we say AP to the Cowboys is everything but a signature (more like press release) away now?

Well the Jets just re-signed Antonio Chromartie. I remember they had a really good safety a few years ago. Either way Jets have the best secondary in football, just like that....
Watch out.

I'll take Sherman, Lane, Thomas, and Chancellor over Revis, Chromartie, and some unknown safety that we can't even remember his name. Not taking anything away from Revis (he's the best) but the best secondary is more than 1 great player.

Chancellor had a torn MCL from the NFC championship, Sherman needed Tommy John surgery for torn elbow muscles, Thomas is getting shoulder surgery this offseason for a tear that happened in the Championship game, and Lane broke his wrist and tore his MCL on the play he intercepted Brady. Brady also threw two INT'S. When does he usually do that?
Not making excuses because Brady made some great throws. I'm just saying don't judge them by that one game when the entire secondary wouldn't have even played if it weren't the Superbowl. Also, that's Tom Brady. He could pick apart any secondary, but he still threw 2 INTs.

Brady picked on Simon over and over again after he replaced Lane who broke his wrist and tore his MCL on the interception in the endzone. Simon looked like a fool trying to defend those quick passes.

Final point: Look what that healthy secondary did to Rodgers in the NFC Championship game. Less than 180 yards passing even after all those five turn overs. He had the ball almost the entire game and only managed 176 yards. Amazing considering how great Rodgers and that prolific passing offense is.

Not an excuse. An excuse would say that's the reason we lost. I don't claim that. I'm just saying don't judge the secondary from that one game. Look at the whole body of work.

Pats had a great secondary. I still can't believe they're completely dismantled after just 1 year. They would have been even better this year.

yup
too bad robert kraft doesnt care about winning. its pretty sad
it sucks how hes been like this forever and weve won like no superbowls. then the one year he decides to try to win and he actually spent money, we won
itd be truly amazing what this franchise coulda done with an owner who cares more about winning than being a cheap fuck
if we kept our secondary we'd be the favorites for the super bowl
i really really hope revis tears his acl on the first play of the season. fuck him. dudes a fucking loser

Lets be real, we'd all want more money if we could get it. I think it's ridiculous for you to expect everyone to be like Tom Brady and 'work for less' in NE. I felt that Brady was underpaid by Kraft for years while Peyton and other QB's got more massive yearly pay. I know he's paid well now but it only took like 15 seasons. Honestly the Pats are done once Brady drops off, which at his age is gonna happen pretty quickly. Revis isn't young for his position either and probably likes The Jets owner as a person and employer better than he likes Kraft. Pats and Broncos got a lot worse personnel wise, as Broncos players are jumping ship since Peyton is done, and Pats players want more money than the owner is willing to pay them. If they ever remove of vastly increase the salary cap you can expect NE to be very bad, because we know Kraft wont be competing in the spending department with some of the other owners in the league.
Dallas and Philly somehow both got worse, bad trades and bad cap management seem to be the reasons in that case, but we'll have to wait until the season starts to know for sure. Kinda crazy considering the redskins and Giants are already terrible, I guess Dallas is still favored to win that division though.
