Say i can reach spiritual enlightenment, but I cannot hold one stance for a very long time... What does that mean?

I would suggest that there is a difference between temprorary "states" of consciousness (for example, the "peak experiences" described by Abraham Maslow) and more or less stable "stages" of consciousness. Any of us can have a temporary experience of higher states of consciousness at any time, regardless of the developmental stage we currently inhabit. Sometimes these experiences come through meditation or psychedelic drug use, sometimes they are completely spontaneous and unprovoked by any activity of our own (the "grace of god," so to speak). They offer a glimpse of our higher potentials but we cannot stabilize them permanently until we have acquired the mental structures of all of the stages prior to them. Or something like that.

That's you're evolving as a person.

I have experienced many states of higher conciousness, yet I haven't been able to hold them for more than a short time. I am easily distracted by many things. Perhaps a path that I left in the past holds the keys to my future. I am not sure of that. Yet I am sure of one thing, I made mistakes in the past now I wait for those to forgive me. My only aim is to advance my innerself so that the outerself will be able to cope with all of existance.
Peace, Martimur

If I am sure of one thing, it is that you are already always forgiven. Good luck in your search.

The only stance I've been able to hold onto for a long period of time is "We have NO CLUE what's going on, but all of this sure is neato!"
-------------------- Insert an "I think" mentally in front of eveything I say that seems sketchy, because I certainly don't KNOW much. Also; feel free to yell at me.
