Got the job I interviewed last week. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! 60k base + guaranteed at least 10k bonus, health insurance. Quite a leap up from the 40k I make now with 0 benefits. The job is at a medium sized plaintiff firm in Denver in their litigation department. This gig was a MAJOR leap as all of my trial experience is in criminal defense and apparently the managing partner has some rule where all of the litigation section people have to go to trial at least 4 times a year. The last place I applied for wanted 2 years experience and I have 2 years experience and they said I was overqualified . Worked out as this firm offered me 20k more. With a few more years experience, I should be making 100k+. REALLY fucking stoked to leave shitty colorado springs and move back to Denver. Oh man .
The only downside is that I now have to sell my Wed/Thurs Biscuits tickets

it's mostly personal injury. the firm also does employment and work comp.

Don't you have to bill like, millions of hours to make partner?
I work with lots of lawyers. I really like law.

No, all the work is contingent so there is no billing. For this kind of work, you make partner by bringing clients into the firm or being a rockstar trial attorney.
