CHOKE - A good read
    #2139443 - 11/27/03 03:24 AM (13 years, 7 months ago)

I'm about half way through this book. It's by the same guy who wrote fight club(it was a very good book before it was a movie). I heard they're going to make this book into a movie as well. They should. It's great. Kind of depressing, but that's where its wit is. Has anyone else read this book?

It's definately an incredible read.

I love how within all of Chuck Pahlanihuk's novels, you can visualize the events so easily. It's like they were written for the big screen.

I also heard production on choke has ceased....

--------------------
We live together, we act on, and react to, one another; but always and in all circumstances we are by ourselves. The martyrs go hand in hand into the arena; they are crucified alone. Embraced, the lovers desperately try to fuse their insulated ecstasies into a single self-transcendence; in vain. By its very nature every embodied spirit is doomed to suffer and enjoy in solitude. Sensations, feelings, insights, fancies--all these are private and, ex- cept through symbols and at second hand, incommunicable. We can pool information about experiences, but never the experiences themselves. From family to nation, every human group is a society of island universes.

Just read that book a few weeks ago, actually. Really good, I liked it more than Fight Club.
