I'd take Ben Rothielsberger before I took Flacco
And Brees and Rivers and either Manning I'm sure I can come up with some others.
Flacco is generally OK. That is it.
Doesn't surprise me at all, given your in depth knowledge of football. Take Manning and wait for him to throw a couple of pick sixes in the first playoff game. I have no problem with that.
Brees is good but he is definitely on the sunset boulevard. Rivers is a top 10 QB but he will never take a team to a SB. Never.

LeopardMan.. About that Flacco stat.. Did you happen to go and recount Manning and Brady's wins (counting in this past post season)?
I know it's not your thing and it was just a line I pulled from the article you posted, but I am genuinely curious now... (and admittedly too lazy to do it myself)
No biggie if you don't wanna, but thought I'd ask.

The Man Bear Pig was right. But you have to have the right team and the right coach for your QB to look like the greatest on a consistent basis. We'll see what happens this year. McCarthy has only looked like a top 4 guy to me.
My money is still on B and B.

Perhaps I missed a page, but when was McCarthy brought up? Assuming you're referring to AR and MM

I didn't do the math, but I am pretty confident that you are right.
We should also add that Joe Flacco is doing this with a less than average team (even in 2012!).

I know I'm gonna look like a homer fan, but I really do think Rodgers is the best ever... Discounting championships (which I believe a couple more will come in the next few years), the stats are just amazing. Particularly his TD to INT ratio being over 4:1 when the next QB down isn't even at a 3:1 ratio.
I'd say, imagine what they'd be like if he actually played his 1st 3 years and had those stats included, but a big part of me feels that it actually helped him, riding the bench and being Favre's backup for so long.

I'm gonna go with a more conservative 38-24. If Kap runs, they may have a little trouble with containment.. They usually do with running QBs.. Hopefully they're addressing that in practice this week. They're also leaving for the trip a day early (tomorrow).. So we'll see how that suits them.
Also, I believe that bet between Ran-D and emf is still open.
Ran-D predicted the 49ers would have a 10 win season. Pretty sure it's safe to say that barring a miracle, that won't happen for them.

He needs a few more years for a lot of people to be fully convinced, I think.
Although, some people will never give him that even if he plays another 10 years at this level and wins 3 more SBs

They certainly have a good chance this year, especially if they get home field advantage.

I brought McCarthy up. AR and TB are both great but McCarthy has a really long way to go to be considered great. In his last significant game he basically singlehandedly blew it against Seattle in the NFC Championship Game by thinking he could just play it safe and hold the lead in the 2nd Half. You could blame the offensive coordinator, but McCarthy had previously relinquished the play calling to him.
Winning the NFC North every year is no real accomplishment given the low level of the opponents. He has to win Super Bowls or he is going to drag Rodgers down with him. The Patriots make no excuses. Every year they don't win the Super Bowl, they consider themselves to be failures, and that is the only attitude to have, to paraphrase Vince Lombardi. GB has not won twice with any regime since Bart Starr and Lombardi.

Yeah, I wouldn't consider MM to even be close in that discussion...

That's a new development from this offseason. MM has always called the offensive plays, until the start of this season. Dom Capers is the DC. Not sure how much of a hand MM has in setting up the defensive plays during the game, if at all
