the matted layer won't stop growth, once it's ready to pin they will tear through that layer on their own. If you grow in open air without casing like myself then it's hard to avoid getting that layer that forms after initial misting. don't sweat it

if you mist more they'll actually pop up faster with the open air ime, ive got this new mylar grow tent with a 4" inline fan with some filters attached to it blowing in with a humidifier in there but even with the humidifier it would dry out quickly if i didnt mist, but i notice that this has been working faster for me than with a fc, im assuming its the evaporation rate

At night time I put it inside a big wood box with holes in it. But it doesn't get light in there that's why I take it out into open air

I flipped over the tray onto a paper towel to see if it was full colonized in a glove box. And it was like a giant cake lol. But the bottom of the tub was soaking wet.

I have always used wax paper instead of casing and leave them next to an open window when warm, right now is spring so the humidity is very high so that helps alot. today I opened up two trays and seem to be out of wax paper so I'm probably going to try out bubble wrap.
