Here's another from me..
    #21382433 - 03/09/15 12:18 PM (9 years, 2 months ago)

I'm sure it's happened to every single one of us at some point. You broke something that wasn't yours, when no one saw you do it and no one could know you did it. Don't lie on the poll, answer it honestly, you can say whatever in the post even if it contradicts your answer, just saying that for the record.

Anyways..

STAL option is an admission of "guilt" so just click Never if you want to "STAL"
Do you tell the person what you broke
You may choose only one

With my face against the floor I can’t see who knocked me out of the way.
I don’t want to get back up but I have to so it might as well be today.
Nothing appeals to me no one feels like me, I’m too busy being calm to disappear.
I’m in no shape to be alone contrary to the shit that you might hear.

Always. Anyone who wouldn't own up to it has a lot of growing up to do. Why make someone else pay for your mistake right?

Lots of depends on how it happened and what was broke. Anyone care to give some examples?

I was about to say never but then I saw the option "it depends" and therefore, I picked it. Just like more than 60% of us will if my prediction is correct

I was given a really nice bubbler a couple months ago from a good friend.
It was more of a loan than anything until I bought a new piece, so eventually I would have to return it to my buddy.

A few weeks ago I had it on my coffee table and ended up taking a nap on my couch.
When I woke up it was shattered on my floor. This was all that was left of it.

He had owned the piece for close to 10 years before he loaned it to me.
Anyways, he wasn't pissed really. I just bought him a new piece that he picked out.

So yea. Tell people if you break their shit. Why wouldn't you?
Maybe I didn't get the point of this thread.

Some people seem to want to just hide the fact that they broke, others will straight up lie about it. It's a morality question. Do you tell them? Does you telling them depend on anything? Are you just flat out honest 100% of the time? If you are, I hate to tell you, you're in a minority.

I think that's kinda sad. We shouldn't have to feel so guilty about breaking material items that we couldn't just up front tell them what happened. But there are certain rules to the exception in my life. I've broken something by total accident (when I was still a child) that someone held VERY dear to them.. I just couldn't tell them. At the time I was just afraid they'd say we're no longer best friends and to leave them alone.

Completely guilty reasoning. I felt horrible about it, and still do. The toy could be replaced, the sentimental value cannot.

And no I'm not saying that's exception. There are exceptions I just can't be bothered to dream one up at the moment.

Always.  Learn to do the right thing if you don't already know it.  You'll feel better about yourself.  Morals matter.

If it's owned by an individual, always.

Sometimes I go into Walmart and just break shit and put it back. I've probably broken over $100,000 worth of Walmart shit in my lifetime.

Oo...I understand now.

Besides the glass piece I broke, I don't recall anything else I've broken that didn't belong to me.
I told my friend right away what happened. I don't see how or why I would hide that.

Are you talking about if you're at a random person's house and break something?
I understand what you're talking about, but I can't think of a scenario where you break something that doesn't belong to you that you would hide the fact that you did.

Even if you didn't tell the person, eventually they're gonna find out. So what's the point of not telling them from the getgo?
