PF Tek Update - Birthed cakes
    #21359589 - 03/04/15 06:11 AM (9 years, 2 months ago)

Birthed my cakes yesterday, dunked for 24h, and rolled today.
Drilling all those SGFC holes is a pain in the ass!!
It cracked like 8 times.

In vitro

Birthed

The fruiting chamber (I used wax paper instead of foil, it looks pretty nice.)

The setup

Is my perlite layer too deep? It's about 6", I hope it doesn't affect the airflow.

I'm so excited for this!

I'm no expert by any means but you should elevate that off the table and make sure you have it six inches or more from the walls.

The amount of perlite should be fine

It's just a rack, I built it so there's nothing covering the holes on the bottom.
It's about 6 - 8 inches from the back of the closet too.

Thanks though!

Those in vitro pins look pretty lol  I dig your setup but like the other guy said you may want to lift the container off the table a few inches to allow for proper FAE. Great job though!

Well I didnt get that understanding from him saying its a rack he built. my bad. I thought it was just a table he built for something. Everything looks normal then.

Make sure that SGFC gets enough light, it looks like you have it in a closet there! I just used an old fish tank rig and went to lowes and picked up a 16W daylight tube and put it on a 12/12 cycle with a timer. It works really well, and it's pretty cheap! You can pick up one of those tubes for $9 and i'm sure the mount can't be more than 10-15 dollars!
