Stupid mistake - did I ruin my jars?

So living in an extremely cold area, my are used for grows is in my basement which has a tough time keeping up with my room temperature (100+ year old house, really crappy heating and old windows). Either way, I've been using a heating pad, on low, under a blanket to keep the jars within the 70F level. The temperature spiked like crazy today and upon checking the jars they felt fairly warm on their bottoms. I used a laser thermometer I use and the very bottom of the jars looked like they were in the 110-114 range (even though the thermometer I use in the actual tub said the highest it got was 72F. The jars are 80 to 95% fully colonized. Freaking out I started to check the grains at the top of all the jars and they were all at the 70-80F temperatures. I know spore death is around 106-110, so anyone have any input on mycelium? Do you think if I roasted/killed the mycelium on the grains at the very bottom of the jar that the mycelium thats on the top of the jars would take over or would the dead mycelium create contaminates? I hate using heating pads, but its been brutally below 0 colds at times recently and thought a heating pad at the lowest setting under a blanket wouldn't create such heat.

you probably dried the grains in the bottom of your jars. if you must use a heat pad because your living room is 0 degrees put it on top instead.
I have a hard time believing you have it that cold inside tho.

My basement bottoms out around 30-40 degrees during the cold (even though theres 2 vents pumping heat into there) - while my 2nd and 3rd level has temps around 65-70. I would prefer to keep it out of view of general visitors as well as keeping the house neat. I just read that temps that low would stunt growth to a crawl (2 months to fully colonize). The heating blanket was on the ground, then the tub was placed on top, a thick blanket put in the tub and the jars placed in there. I had spent the day prior making sure (using a thermometer I have) that the temps were within reason. I guess the heat just was concentrated at the bottom of the jars - I knew better but when these cold snaps hit my basement is not much better than placing the jars outside. So you guys think that I'm not completely ruined? Would the dried out grains be an increased way to harbor contams or the possibly dead mycelium? I planned on dunking the grains before spawning. I guess I need to let them recover for a few more days now.

Correct. Those 70-75F temps in your 2nd & 3rd level of your home are ideal for colonization.

Yeah I know, I'm in the process of moving to a new house and the house is being shown to perspective buyers - the basement makes it easier to keep things under wraps for now. Ideally I would just bring them up to hang out and probably should of did that from the get go - just going to do that now and try to find a way to keep them out of sight. Just wondering if I should even worry or if they're DOA.

Keep them around and see if they pull through. Don't cook your jars again.
